Arent they supposed to merge anyway? I get a feeling few more big names will go over after which they will scrap PGA, only majors, and continue with LIV format. This is like testing to see just which one is more popular.
I wonder if Rahm asked hinself, "Is this what Seve would do?" I doubt Seve would have. LIV sucks and I'll never watch it so enjoy your money.
What an absolute LIAR he probably talked with God who told him take the money and head off to nowhere land,he will easily be forgotten
Rory next
Are there two guys who know less about golf? how the fuck have yous made it this far that’s a talent in its self 🤣
Make no mistake this is the CRUSADES being fought on a modern stage with the PGA tour as the backdrop. NORMALLY when you don’t get the green jacket you so desired you just accept you were not good enough on the day and go home to maybe try again. But instead ,if you are a nasty piece of work ,you seek out the richest people on earth and maybe run by them the concept of destroying one of the wests premier institutions and guess what they do (who have been involved in every form of destabilizing bullshit on the earth that they can become involved in) they accept. So all you decent folks that I have been reading about that are in favour of this tour , go home and slap the females of your life across the face and feel good about yourselves because that is what you are supporting. How much do think that they would have offered Bobby Jones and how far up their ass would he have asked them to shove it.I don’t think there would have been enough room.
While Jon was making comments about reasons to stay with the PGA – the PGA Executives were deceiving and manipulating PGA players like him. Am surprised that any PGA players stay without changing out the PGA Executives and restructuring the PGA. There is a big difference between $400 M & $600 M and the top players no longer play on the PGA. Let us face it – Rory hasn’t won a major for 10 years now & the DP tour recently defeated the PGA players rather easily.
Rahm’s move is a symptom of a major problem with the PGA Tour. It’s understandable the focus is on him today but ultimately the lenses will have to be trained on the dysfunctional leadership of the PGA Tour. Who thinks Jay Monahan is the person to lead the PGA Tour through this morass and why wasn’t he sacked on June 7?
Can you blame him after all the shit Monahan did? I’d go too at this point. It sucks for golf. These guys all took the cash and couldn’t care less about the legacy of golf. The sport is broken right now and I better hope these greedy bastards figure something out real quick. Again, I don’t blame Rahm for this move but it’s pathetic and just sad how far the professional leagues have come. At least the Masters and The Open are something we can still look forward to. Yikes.
Everyone is a sellout
No clown tour 🤡
It means LIV is getting stronger and the PGA Tour fumbled the entire situation. LIV is here to stay, people need to get over it. It is good for golf. What isn't good for golf is the ball roll back. That is far worse. Pros and people need to come together to have the ruling reversed. It is bullshit.
Rham is fat and not even 30. Nobody cares about him or his family. What’s wrong with the world? Umm….THIS is what’s wrong!!!
I think talk of private equity is just the PGA Tour trying to insinuate there are other options in their negotiations with PIF. Any private equity firm is going to want a return on their investment. I really fail to see where that would come. I'm equally sure the leadership of the PGA Tour do not want private equity people holding them to account either. The PIF have said they do not want to run the show. Obviously being the funding source they will effectively control the future but they won't really want the type of return that Private Equity will. They will make sure the direction is where they want to go, but other than that I think they will be 'relatively' hands off. Sponsors are leaving the PGA Tour, they are going backwards very fast. They know they won't be able to compete. No Private Equity firm is going to want to go head to head against the PIF. I find it hard to believe there are really any viable alternatives to the PIF (for the PGA Tour). So I think that ultimately a deal will be done.
As to Rory not having a number – I think this is really disingenuous. Rory has helped preside over PGA Tour changes that have done nothing more than line his own pockets – can the PIP be described as anything else? To think of Rory as some moral warrior, again nothing could be further from the truth. He has gone out of his way to be vitriolic about LIV and made many snide comments about some of the LIV players. He has intinated that they only went for the money. So what if they did – Rory is trying to line his pockets as best he can while trying to intimate he is not motivated by money. Last year Rory said he had no problem with Saudi money in golf (in spite of all his LIV comments), he just wanted the Saudi money on the PGA Tour!! He has flip flopped his opinions so many times. Now that Rahm is gone to LIV – he wants the Ryder Cup rules changed so Rahm can play. How convenient to change your mind now. The hypocrisy of Rory McIlroy is truly breathtaking. Could you really imagine that after all the bad blood he has helped to create in golf, that Rory would feel able to accept an offer from LIV to play. He could not weather the absolute complete breakdown of any credibility he thinks he has left. Rory has obviously been very close to Tiger Woods for some time now and I really think that time with Tiger has truly rubbed off on to him. Tiger never does anything that does not benefit Tiger and sadly I now think the same of Rory – he will say and do anything that he thinks will benefit himself. I think anyone who wants to treat Rory as some sort of saviour or role model is just fooling themselves.
Another trader goin after blood money guess people forget 911. Theres a reson they call greg norman a shark evil greety bastard
The money, Tigers silly hyped up return and the USA PGA board is the reason why he left.
Why the fixation on generational wealth? Does he genuinely consider the well-being of relatives born centuries from now? He has ample money for his great-grandchildren, and still earning millions annually on the PGA tour, why the pursuit beyond?
HIV golf where fame goes to die for $.
Money corrupts many a man. Take note of who you are getting into bed with. See you Jon. Remember DJ? Remember Cam? How much for the NFL? It is disappointing . What is enough money?
The corrupt golf media and the PGA tour walk hand in hand. The truth is the PGA tour betrayed the players. Their lack of loyalty cost them Rahm.
They now have the 2 best players from last year. Koepka and Rahm, major champions.
who cares. just one less ahole on the tour. but he can really play
all this will make goil unwatchable
Let's be honest, and golf is supposed to be a gentleman's game full of honor, honesty, integrity, etiquette, and politeness. Jon Rahm went to LIV STRICTLY FOR THE 600 MILLION. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL PRO GOLFERS IS MONEY! Don't believe any of that nonsense about loving the game and titles being the most important. You can always judge people by their actions. Rahm and other golf stars chose the LIV money over anything the PGA Tour had to offer – history, titles, fame, legacy, or loyalty. I'm happy for Rahm. How could anyone in their right mind turn down 600m! Money is the most important thing in this world for 99% of the people. They all have a price, a number, they will accept. More PGA stars will leave for LIV, I'm sure of it. This might be the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. That will be a deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they have tried to monopolize pro golf. From the beginning, LIV has had a right to exist and recruit players, who of their on free will join it. Also, all of that talk about Saudi money being blood money because of the Saudi human rights violations and political murders is hypocritical nonsense. Look at the war crimes and murder the USA is supporting with Israel's murderous genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, for one clear example. USA money is blood money too. We live in a world where many corporations and companies make billions of dollars off of war and murder, or off of polluting the planet with smog and chemicals. So, all of the golf tours and professional sports are full of blood money. I don't like LIV's format or their loud music, but with all of that Saudi money involved it is here to stay. I do think we will soon see a merger of the two tours, because that will be the only way the PGA tour survives.
Better late then never. He should have jumped when Dustin moved. Some of these players are just slow on the uptake. And coming around to Norman's view that the PGA really does shortchange the players.
Rahm has had a couple goals have had to change a best year in golf to hange his prospective from thought.

The Saudis have 750 billion dollars to throw at the players, and they love golf and they love LIV. With Koepka and Rahm gone, this is the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. A deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they wanted to monopolize pro golf and control their players. The PGA Tour having a cut and then half of the players in the tournament not making any money, even though it's their profession, is greedy BS. No other pro sports league treats their players so selfishly and so badly. There should be no cut, like LIV, and all of the players should get paid. If someone works, they should get paid! Also, from the beginning, the PGA Tour tried to control their players like slaves, telling them they could not play in LIV events, or they would be banned from the tour for life. That was horse shit. Pro golfers are independent agents who should be able to play in any tournament anywhere in the world anytime they want to. Sure, the PGA Tour has its stupid reasons to justify and rationalize its unfair and archaic ways, but they are learning the hard way that Money talks and BS walks.
If you’ve watched a pga event, it’s boring as f&$k,
If the destructive narcissistic Greg Norman disliked the PGA tour so much…why did he continue to play on that tour. Simple….money. It couldn't have been so bad could it.
We can tell yall dont watch liv….how can u say they arent serious when 4 mill is on the line for the winner…..just cus music is playin doesn't mean they arent trying……gtfoh anyone affiliated with golf channel is pissing down their leg tell me im.lyin

If you compare the PGAT to baseball, football or basketball there is no comparison in INCOME from the franchise, merchandising and tv contracts.
The money for the PGAT comes principally from corporate sponsors at the various tournaments and the tv contracts and PGA media rights. You'd never get rich from investing in the PGAT.
The current business model of the PGAT is like a Guild from the 1800s. You MUST be in the Guild to play; the income is for a non-profit organization; money also goes to charity; money goes to prizes; money goes to management; money goes to investments for pensions; money goes to PGAT golf venues, and a few other things. NOT a lot of room for profits in here.
How can you expect to compete against a Sovereign Wealth Fund that isn't concerned about MAKING A PROFIT !!!??? You can't. This is becoming clear to the PGAT members. They're just waiting to see who leaves next.
To the last guy out………be sure to turn off the lights.
