PGA will exist but with a different format and a different board – both dictated by LIV. PGAT was delusional. They thought they would be able to get the PIF money and still be in charge and determine how the funds get allocated. LIV = 54 holes and 54 players (18 teams of 3 players). Also 54 is considered to be the perfect round (birdie every hole).
They should call it the B.S.B. tour. Bone saw boys. It's simple. It's a saudi subsidized entity that has no business model. Just loosing vast amounts of money to try to clean there image. Never watched LIV and haven't watched the PGA Tour since they took Saudi money. I still watch some of the Opens, Ryder Cup & Masters.
I wish they would keep this crap on the “Business Page” … it has nothing to so with “the sport of golf”.
Golf will be around tomorrow .. and whichever has a business case that can make money will be around.
And, if the Saudi’s will endlessly throw money at Team Golf .. that will happen until they get tired of throwing more good money at a bad business plan.

I very rarely say I told you so but. Anyone who has any business acumen or experience in joint ventures knew immediately that LIV and PIF were the power behind this deal. They PGA was never in control or going to be in charge. I could not believe that people did not see this.

Brandel Chamblee now hope for the PGA Tour and LIV Golf to merge because Rahm has succumbed to the pressure at the opportunity of earning generational wealth which makes it clear that LIV will do anything to acquire high ranking players from the PGA and that these players are willing to jump ship even if it means compromising everything they stand for to the detriment of the tour that made them who they are. So Brandel's fear is valid – LIV is a sideshow with the worst type of actors. Now fans’ attention will be divided between an entity that doesn’t know what it’s doing and doesn’t offer much in the way of competition yet does boast some marquee names against the traditional power with true competition and true consequences that could lose the very stars needed to pull people in. Forget additive; that is the very definition of subtraction. It is a diluted product!!!

Excellent video, BBPG, fact based and very analytical. I like the way you juxtaposed Brandel Chamblee's former opinions with what he's espousing now to expose his "change of tune." What I find despicable about Brandel is penchant for the most blatant hypocrisy. His pro-PGAT and anti-LIV rants were based on an idea that Saudi ownership of LIV was immoral: "sports washing," "blood money," etc. It's as if Jay Monahan had a hand up a particular one of Brandel's bodily orifices where Brandel was simply a dummy and Jay was the ventriloquist.
But, morality? It was a few years back that Brandel divorced his then wife and mother of his children to follow an office romance and marry Bailey Mosier, an attractive Golf Channel talking head/bimbette. If Brandel can have outrage over Brooks Koepka leaving the PGA Tour for LIV, I can have outrage over his middle aged crisis-soothing dumping of his wife and kids for a bimbette and his pontificating on the "evils" of LIV and the Saudis on the basis of a presumed morality rings untrue and hypocritical.
I see he's changed his tune on LIV; possibly, he may have had a medical procedure to cut the opto-rectal synapse he had that made his LIV outlook so sh!tty. But, the problem that afflicts him also afflicts the rest of the GC's broadcast staff, especially that twerp Damon Hack and that other twerp Eamon Lynch, he of the WC Fields nose. (I digress here, but each time I see Lynch, I think of that crack that Charlie McCarthy made to Fields once: "Mr. Fields, is that your nose or are you eating a tomato?") I can only hope that NBC can read the tea leaves now and clean house at the Golf Channel to finally cleanse it of its bias.
IMO, the PGA Tour is slowly circling the drain and the sooner that Monahan leaves, the better for all.

If the LIV deal with the PGA doesn't go through the PGA tour probably will be regelated to playing for less with a lower quality players. People go to tournament to see the top players. No one cares about who's ranked # 421 in the world. Even though they are still very fine players.
