I live in Scotland and watch the DP World Tour and PGA tour and LPGA. The Thursday, Friday coverage is a big yawn – only good for an afternoon nap. The weekend coverage is also dull, continually interrupted by commercials – the DP World tour has become mainly no names that I don't care about and to some extent so has the PGA Tour. The PGA tour they talk legacy and then called the tournament Joe's Mattresses when years ago it was the Greater Greensboro, no one knows what the tournament's history is. 2024 we have ZoZo something, so I don't. now don't get the legacy bit – legacy is now 4 majors (not PGA tour), Players Championship and Fedex Cup.

Love your analysis, but in terms of the deal going through…I have to say no because the PIF could have saved themselves a half billion by not signing Rahm if the deal was to combine all three tours. They are going to go with the private equity people who will be just as demanding as PIF when it comes to decision making policies that Monaghan tries to push through…he really does need to be shown the door

I honestly can't make up my mind about Brandel. On one hand I can't beleive someone is that stupid, then I think is he just doing it to be controvesial to get attention. The more I hear from him I think the former is more likley.

I know this is not on topic. But I have a question about the ball roll back. Since LIV is not associated with the tour, do they have to conform to the new ball? LIV is about excitement and crushing the ball. Why change?

Ok I totally disagree with Brandel but he absolutely should be in Johnny Millers chair as a protagonist commentator.I’m not saying he has Millers knowledge obviously! He does have just enough hutzpah to bash people like Rory at the moment he hits a shot that makes it appear like he’s an idiot. I believe Brandel is a special kind of narcissist!

If the Golf Channel lived up to its name, and Brandel got over his anger issues, they could do themselves a service by speaking about ALL golf and not putting themselves in an either/or position.
Remember, the Golf Channel has always advertised itself as "The Official Golf Channel of the PGA Tour" so they've invested themselves in the PGAT and are simply singing the hymns given them by Jay Monahan in his "Anti-Liv Hymnal." They've clad themselves in the robes of righteousness and preach to the congregation about how the LIV is evil, "blood money," "sports washing," and other such twaddle while extolling the PGAT as without sin and almost holy. But, now that it's seen by all that Monahan was courting the Saudi PIF behind the Tour membership's back, the hypocrisy of it all has become apparent to even the most casual observer of golf and the natives – the PGA Tour members – are restless.
IMO, the PGA Tour has a future if and only if Monahan and his coterie of Board flunkies are evicted from Ponte Vedra and a more enlightened Commissioner and Board are installed. Once that happens, I expect Yasir Al Rummayan, PIF leader, to make it happen as he now swings the big stick for pro golf, things will change. Change is never easy and the Golf Channel will get a well deserved housecleaning too, and I can only hope that Chamblee, Damon Hack, Rich Lerner, and Eamon Lynch – he of the WC Fields nose – will be sent to the unemployment line along with those 2 obnoxious British women they have as announcers and a new, more enlightened crew can be installed.

Rahm leaving for LIV is a huge Christmas present to the PGA and those movers and shakers behind the scenes. I suspect those controlling things behind the scenes may have been a little disingenuous with LIV. Here, guys, take this. And more, top PGA players are leaving soon. Brandel has always been a TOAD boy for the PGA. Even worse is the amount of money Monahan is getting paid and his little buddies in the tour Exec suit. As more info is made public this continues to errode support for the PGA Tour. The level of mismanagement is epic and there will be a revolt by the players in the near future
