my god what a bs video
He made the right move! The only thing that LIV golfers will miss is the majors? Pretty soon the deal will be worked out so these LIV players will b able to play in the 4 mayors if they qualify? They can care less about playing in regular PGA events?
More golf soap opera. I believe the PGA has doomed itself in the long term. I can't watch it anymore because the courses are too tricked up, the equipment is now almost at the super-natural level – another dimension in change from my clubs in the late 1950's. I am still the only golfer I know that believes that Augusta's #16 is an abomination – what I call "Putt-putt" golf. Golf has become the equivalent of a "gladiator" event in Roman times – "bread and circuses". Will we one day have 10,000 yard course, or have I missed that already, and somewhere there is a 10K yard course. I greatly enjoy watching the LPGA because I don't have to watch 6' 5" golfers and ones that weigh over 200 lbs and hitting it 350 and more routinely. The concept of reasonable risk and reward is completely lost now on these courses. We're converging on courses having wild animals on chains and if you happen to hit it in the circumference of the chain – the "hazard" – you have a decision to make. Take a stroke penalty or maybe it's two OR take your chances. I used to watch the Masters religiously but I haven't watched it in years. I read the news after the last round. It's worth a few minutes of reading but not hours over several days – any more. BUT I still play the game with my 60 year old putter (Ray Cook M1) and my 50+ year old Hogan Sand wedge. My newest club is a 5 year old Taylor made driver – a free retirement gift choice. The rest are Hogan's that are now over 20 years old. And I have shot-my-age 8 times – all but one from the "member tees" (6,100+ yds par 71). The world renowned psychiatrist, Dr. M. Scott Peck, who wrote the notoriously well-received book "The ROad Less Traveled" (1979) also wrote a book "Golf and the Spirit" – after a lifetime of playing competitive tennis he had to stop so he picked up golf. HE was quite enamored with the game and said (Not exact quote) that "We can all agree that sports are metaphors for life. Golf is different. Golf is not a metaphor for life. Golf IS life." He was dead serious. Peck was often referred, was considered to be, "the conscience of humanity." Go play golf. Experience life.
