I always liked watching her play. She seemed focused and had a great swing. She was and will be great eye candy. I think she was under alot of pressure with overexpections and not allowed to concentrate on her game. Also think the other women were jealous ever her looks and her style.

as a korean, it's terrible seeing typical greedy tiger parents controlling and constantly helicopter parenting.. smh.
Wie should have had a way longer playing career.

"At 13 years old she was playing in men's tournaments beating most of the pros on the tour" complete nonsense. She was doing so badly she wasn't making cuts and only was continuing to be there because of Tour exemptions to make money off of TV coverage.

Stop changing facts to suit your narrative.

So it wasn't a Tiger Woods like career. Still made more money than most providing a good life for her. She seems to be grateful for that.

She quit playing. Yeah, that would end anybody's career.

Her golf swing was like Ken Griffey Jr in baseball, so smooth and fluid.

Why get coaching if you're already playing well? Only get help in things you are having issues with

Let this woman and her husband live in peace. It's obvious she got injured and couldn't get back to form. It happens to the best of us.

I saw her at a Canadian Open in Vancouver. She was at the driving range on the Thursday before the tournament. I asked her for an autograph but she wasn't able to because both of her parents were watching over her. She must of had a crappy career being handled by those two. I have selfies with almost all of the other players but her attitude was completely different than the everyone else there.

Chirchill said that playing golf was a waste of a nice walk. If a 12 year old girl could mix it with the pro's then you know that golf is not a sport.

There was a good amount that you left out of her story. She started to become hated because she decided that the women weren't giving her enough competition, so she'd continually enter PGA events. I remember Annika Sörenstam criticizing her for this move. While she had success on the LPGA tour, it wasn't like she was so good that she needed to step up and challenge the men.

I had no idea bout the Rudy Giuliani story. Geez man, even back then, he was a friggin' creep. Either way, she made a ton of money and is set for life. Who knows? Maybe she might one day try to make a comeback. Personally, I think she tried to do too much too fast.

Golfer incurs a penalty in the 3rd round, but TV wants her for ratings on Sunday, so they DQ her after the 4th.

So a 9-foot tall Chinese ogress beat a few guys, until they hit puberty and wiped her all all over the fairway leaving a brown line to the green.
Professional golf is a joke, which defeats the purpose of the game. Of COURSE if someone devotes their life to something, they'll be better.
IT'S NOT A SPORT. It's CROQUET with a bigger field.

You cannot blame anyone but Michelle for her lack of success layer. The media didn't stop her from driving the fairway, hitting chips closer, or making putts.

I wouldn't necessarily blame the media. Parents have the final say in what happens as they grow up. She was, and is a great ambassador for golf

    Spoiled child syndrome.
Kids who get everything handed to them their entire lives can rarely achieve their highest potential. Not entirely her fault.

    Her parents allowed all that.
    Stop blaming others.
It was her parents fault. They were in charge.
They wanted money so they whored thier daughter for money.
    Typical greed.

The spot where she signed an incorrect scorecard due to a drop on the 3rd round that was possibly discovered after the 4th round is one reason gold is insane! Can you imagine an NBA Championship Team celebrating during their Home Town Parade and officials saying, "Well let's go back to a play during Game 2 and then overturning that play which means that the losing team for that game is awarded the victory and then the NBA Championship is changed!! Or, a fan calling in from home during an NFL Game and notifying the officials of a possible penalty that wasn't called and the refs changing the call? Please Gold come into the 21st century!!

Sad that her playing career was derailed by the ambition and greed of others. The upside is that she seems to be thriving in other aspects of her life.

You made the comment she was meeting most pros that is not true. You overexaggerate it

She should've been playing golf with golfers of her age and learning to win. Her parents should not allow her to be pushed like that.
