Augusta is the definition of elite. That means that the "admin" heels to no one. They call the shots and the only possible approach to "convincing" (as opposed to coercing) the inclusion of Joaco is to appeal to their pride and how only the best of the best get invited. If enough people express this by pointing out that a weaker field diminishes their legacy and reputation, then they might well do the right thing.
Aside from mullet talk, another good video. The viewership numbers only represent the USA not the world. LIV is being broadcast in over 120 countries. Order of magnitude when applied to viewership of 10 k per is 1.2 million. Adverting revenue is based on eyeball viewership minutes. What are the numbers from Mexico, Chile, Australia/New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, the UK, pacific rim, and on and on?
I bet Nieman ends up in the Masters. The majors want the best fields and can invite anyone they want to. They could simply invite LIV winners or top 5 on the LIV money list or similar criteria.
The concept of the PGA Tour being a "feeder" for LIV is the ultimate insult. "Family" pressure (being at home more and more often but having a bigger take-home pay without the stress) is a considerable factor. Happy wife, happy life. The actual linch-pin would be the golden boys club going over to LIV. Sheffler, Speith and Hovland. The PGA Tour was "started" by Jack and Arnie to ensure more money for them and other "draws", Charitable foundation? Robber barons and depriving the masses (PGA pros) of their daily bread. Nice.
Rory is holding out for $1 billion from LIV, his ego wants to upstage Rahm/Koepka/Cam/DJ/Bry58n and that number would do it. Clark, Hovland and Xander are when's not if's. It's only a matter of time. Clark should already have moved because he won a major last year, so his major exemptions are sorted, he's just pissing about now. I believe Hovland has a great chance of winning a major this year and I'll be betting as such, so if he does then he will heading over to LIV shortly after like Cam in his wisdom did. Finau was super close to leaving too but he fumbled the bag. The only leverage the PGAT has is the OWGR points control, or else at least 50% of the PGAT players would leave in a heartbeat.
According to an X post today, it seems like Tiger is the one working to keep PIF out of the PGA funding. He seems to have won over Webb Simpson and Jordan Spieth. To those with a long memory of the LIV/PGA golf wars, way back in 2022 at the British Open at St. Andrews (the 150th playing of this tournament), we all know that former winner Greg Norman was disinvited from attending or participating in the ceremonies which took place. While Martin Slumbers made the public statements defending the R&A's decision to bar Norman (saying Norman's presence would be "divisive" or some other weaselly-language), it came out later that it was Tiger Woods who strongly campaigned to keep Norman from attending. Basically the largest pushback against PIF/LIV and a merger comes from Tiger Woods. Wild times.
From here, I could see PIF attempting to fund the European Tour or continue growing the Asian Tour and use that as a springboard. LIV's current problem is that it doesn't get its players into majors, either through OWGR or special exemption categories. This makes it difficult to attract talent, of which LIV will need more given the fact Lee Westwood still has a contract to shoot 76's. But the PIF has made inroads in gaining acceptance within the wider golf community. If they can win over Rory, they have more support among golfers than what is being said publicly.
Looking at potential pickups for LIV, it seems like the bigger European guys are more gettable than the American ones. Hovland? If he had a major and 5 year-exemption it would make sense.
Caleb Surratt made over $1,000,000 in his 1st tournament as a professional player. No brainer choice to come and play on LIV. I did not watch the PGA tour event. I did stream the LIV event. I can not wait to see these guys play at the Las Vegas Country Club.
Good stuff Big Boy Pants Golf! Keep your content coming!
Should be boycotting it because it is run by Freemasons that want to enslave humanity. Hence why the tournament is called The Masters in the first place. Their nearby (ex)monument even told you they will reduce the population to a more manageable 500million.
So if I start a league can I demand world ranking points? That's what Liv is doing basicly. I like jauquin but he knew what he was doing by signing with Liv, the possibility of not playing any major.
I used to live in Georgia and honestly The Masters wasn't a tournament I ever cared for. As a matter of fact, after 10 years trying, I quit putting my name down for the lottery because a gentleman from Augusta told me straight up, with my name, the only thing Augusta National was going to give me was a lawnmower to cut grass.😂
Love your videos. Great stuff. That LIV Playoff last week was fantastic. That course looked more difficult than the courses on the PGA Tour. Those fairways were super narrow and the rough was penal, same thing I noticed on the DP World Tour. Those waste bunkers in UAE and the rough were way tougher than the launching pads on the PGA Tour.
If he wanted to be in the masters, he should’ve stayed on the PGA tour. The qualifications are clear.. liv tournaments mean nothing.. and until they go to four day format, they will always mean nothing… There’s other ways for him to qualify. The rules are clear. You don’t get to leave the PGA tour and then make up your own rules he took the money So what’s the problem? If you wanted to be in the majors, you knew the path?? But the money was more important
If you really watched last year's U.S.Open if DJ had made any putts at all ( so many missed by a sliver) he would have won by 3 strokes minimum!! Nothing went in for him and he was still close! Johnston extremely good when on!!
I watch both tours. but the pga tour is noticeable lacking big names from week to week. You can count on Liv to have the same players in each event.. In the long haul I believe it will get worked out like when the AFL in football came about and started taking players from the NFL and the college draft. The NFL dogged the AFL as a lesser league. But as you all know they merged and its better than before. I believe they will evidently work it out and ALL the great players will be playing together in certain events besides the majors. Everyone just needs to relax and enjoy Golf.
They are going to need PIF money, because SSG is going to expect an ROI on their investment. They have put a bandaid on a ship that is still taking on water. Pro Golf has experienced the first Paradym industry shift, and the Big Moneymen are winning the game of Big name players. It's inevitable LIV has made really good moves securing the best players that young golf fans, and old want to watch. Tiger is finished, even on being able to prop up the tour when decides to play. When he does, he never makes the weekend, and Sponsors bail on you if you can't provide Marquee players. The PGA knows this , and so do the top players. It's purely a logistical financial situation, and the business model was old, and broken. All sports move towards a Global mindset for the Promotion of their Product, it's simple math, but this Blueblood sport in America thinks different, and that's the problem. Time for young blood to show the way, and they are. Great episode Pants. 🍁⛳️⛳️⛳️🍁
Ridley should be commended doing right thing inviting Neiman and Oleson by doing that he is keeping the Masters watchable and in keeping spirit of founders who would want best golfers in world regardless of affiliation!! Good job Mr. Ridley you came through what's best for all of us!!
Guys- this is really a dumb comment. No one is boycotting the masters….PGA maybe….
It’s already over for the PGA with or without whacky shirts Hovland.

I think the Prince has cut a future team deal with Rory…

With all due respect to your guest…what kind of self-respecting man is a Rory fan in 2024?

I don't know why I would think about boycotting the Masters.I would LOVE to go to the Masters!!! I do like Joaquin Niemann. Tons of respect for him.
Victor would be an awesome addition to LIV IMHO.
What’s wrong with your cohost?
“ the 59 is better because it’s lower than 60”
He doesn’t even bother to mention that they’re both 12 under par.
That doesn’t mean ANYTHING to him?

Boycott the majors 😂😂😂 The majors are the only reason to watch golf. LIV, yawn. PGA tour, yawn.
LACC Invitational last year wasn’t a major… didn’t invite the best players and didn’t even play by the rules
I like the streaming on LIV and it should continue atleast on the app but they would be smart to get a tv deal with either Fox or ESPN
I don’t get why Finau didn’t go to LIV? Is it that he didn’t like the international travel?
We're gonna turn The Tuesday Show into the next big thing in golf media!

Perspective for the No Laying Up crowd.
Nieman just beat the top 4 finishers from last year's. Masters.
PS. NO to whiny Rory.

Yes yes and yes
Play the Ball as it lies is still a part of the Rules of Golf 😂😂 no matter where you play ….

I’m sure you think Bryson’s 58 was legit also….lol

Niemans drive into the woods that got kicked out was a gift from the Golf Gods
