i wonder if paying pro golfers an offensive amount of money will improve the game, or their play? professional golf has already become the most boring version of itself in its history…i don't know how paying the same limited group of players even more money will make the game more interesting?
or is it simply meant to continue milking the corporate novelty club industry that they shill for, and the mindless consumers, for endless money? probably. we can't really see any other reason for the destruction of professional golf into a circus of high paid gorillas pimping novelty drives that real golfers like nicklaus, trevino, hogan, and player never heard of.
how can we pretend that today's game of long drive contest golf on purposefully limited fields of competition will ever be worth the money they throw at it? it's impossible…golf is dead…the game is ruined. the only solution is to return to traditional length courses, so the real shot makers like trevino and hogan and player can compete again…
then you would have an interesting tour again…and it will only get more boring and doomed the longer they avoid this obvious answer in favor of the limited hangout of the same 20 gorillas each week playing for 100 million dollars a year!
the pga has been criminally responsible, in my opinion.

I'm betting that they want to keep Tony for diversity and perception. The one black guy on tour is gone already. Man this is crazy.

Viktor is more of a shock to me than Rahm… that would be massive.. he is a rising super star. Not taking anything away form Rahm and the others, just saying…

Victor stated today he wasn’t. Nice try though. If you throw enough names to the wall, one might stick. 😆

Would have thought someone like Viktor would jump ship once he won a major with future major exemptions in place

LIV can be successful but it's still a distant 2nd to the PGA tour. The tradition and the Majors will keep the vast majority with the tour. LIV is dropping a ton of capital to build their league and my prediction is they will never recoup the money they've invested. Shame they can't both exist with players playing both tours but I see why the PGA is doing what they're doing.

Liv is a trash format and is not about growing the game of golf it is about destroying the PGA Tour and sports washing

PGA and Liv have to let cross play in order to have enough competition to keep us wanting to watch.

Ok people heres what liv is. So this prince Mohammad bin whatever has been taking a lot of flak from around the world for cutting so many peoples heads off. About twice as many as his predecessor. So he loses a whole bunch of saudi government money buying sports gravy suckers to help him clean the saudi image in the world. Thats what liv is. Any questions?

If the pga ends do the records mean anything anymore? Does anyone care about records that were set in any of the now defunct leagues in any of the other major sports?

Isn't Finau in a lawsuit for $24 million against him? That's probably why he pulled out. With a bigger offer, he could have settled. I think some players were expecting big paydays. That's likely coming to an end. Many people said Finau was gonna be big several years ago. He hasn't won any majors yet. Also, PIF likely wanted a big name before December. It's fairly obvious PIF were giving a big bonus to the first person to pull the trigger and Rahm took it. Maybe Finau didn't think Rahm would do it, or he got nervous about getting ranking points to get to the majors. It could also be PIF is sending a message that there are limited spots left.

    Interesting times. 🙂

Hovland and Hideki as captains of a team together would be awesome! Cleeks must be the worst team name and branding in LIV, closely followed by the Iron Heads and Smash. I hope Hovi does not join up there.

Hovland just said on a norwegian podcast that he hates the product, and he doesn't think LIV would make him a better player. He even said, "So then it's end of discussion." You just talk totally BS!

    LIV = Golf
    Harlem Globetrotters = Basketball

Both are guaranteed paychecks without regard for final score. Exhibition.
I cannot wait to see Rahm dump a bucket of confetti on Sergio on the 18th hole.

I've felt all year that Hovland would go because they would really want him and pay him big! Also I feel they will go hard after Aberg, He has a great future and would go for the big payday!!!!
