As long as there is still golf on TV who cares about all this nonsense? I like golf and golfers not specific tours.

A shift in narrative is all that this is… pgatour has a chance to be bigger IMO than what it is because of what PIF can do – If you are concerned look at newcastle united and their success – look at F1 and their success. They have global success.

It’s bullshit. Crap on your players long enough they find something better. Now you want to make good on their requests? Go pound sand.

Why do they wait for something to happen before they communicate with their players. This is not proactive

PIF should just pass on PGA Tour and focus on merging with DP World Tour….let the PGA Tour implode

It looks quite certain to PIF right now that they are being double-crossed from the June 6th announcement—the same way the loyal PGA players felt the very same day.

It’s the golden rule. Whoever has the gold makes the rules. PIF can just outmanoeuvre pga with their unlimited resources. They don’t need to make a profit where the PGA do. Unfortunately.

I agree with other comments here. PGA Tour players should be speaking to LIV Golf fast! PIF may have lost its patience and they are just about to press the button on billions of dollars of investment independently.

LIV events is more fun to watch with all the super stars, once major TVs start broadcasting it will more hurtful for PGA if the merger failed, and with SSG partnership, PGA will definitely become a feeder tour for LIV

LIV showing the world they have the power and going from strength to strength. these facts will infuriate the PGA, the PGA are losing their stars and money makers, they are extremely scared of losing more players which will worry them. i said in previous post that Rambo was no surprise its the players following him that will be..

Funny how Rory continues being salty towards certain players who left for LIV but in other cases like Rahm and Koepka he doesn't dare to say a word. Rory should zip it and understand that he is the most overpaid golfer in the world and stop being jealous when other players make more money.

What happens to the LIV players who are not selected for 2024? 48 players only mean there will be a few looking for work….question is where?

It sure makes the moves by certain pga tour players to join LIV is an even more blatant grab at big monies before this is concluded. Money over takes morality. Certain players are gonna gain big time whilst the majority of loyal PGA players lose out. Such a shame, but even more is the demise of the tour events as we know them and the individuality of the game of golf in competitive terms.

This seems like it’s almost a labor negotiation between the players and the new eventual “owner”, relative to revenue split. The product and the value are the players. The players should be trying to get the best revenue sharing deal possible. The current executives, as well as these new investment groups, are essentially the enemy in these negotiations. Monaghan, and the current board, provide no real value at this point. As a player on the board, you’re negotiating with them and against them.

The players should be considering their ousting as part of this deal. The value of the purchase, is partially the continuation of all the best (most valuable) players in the world into this new entity. The current board has shown a disdain for LIV, along with a punitive mindset. That comes from self interest and doesn’t advance the most valuable ongoing, combined asset. The new ownership group, along with the players, would have a more valuable asset and future revenue stream by severing this current board from the future structure. The most valuable future structure would include a combined PGA and LIV , with no barriers, no penalties, all players qualifying for majors, and a combined world ranking system.

Nice to see that these guys who are using goolf as Theiir Joob are doing what all the rest if us do going where the money is i as an engiineer have been part oof the multi thousands of ppeople who have woorked for Arabian countries and companies without suffering any bias for earning my money so why the double standards in sport the Ladies have been sponsoored in countless tournaments in the arab states with no detrement ….and siding with the PGA because they are losing their mmonopoly in the golfi g world …in the name of culture classes doesn't wash either !!!the real obscenity in all of this is the amounts of money given to people who hit a little ball into a hole in the ground for a living …then pretend to give a monkeys about human rights ..its an individual right to choose your own morals it should not be used in collective bargaining about power in the name of human rights if people dont agree with something then dont watch the sport on tv …but there is no harm in seeing this Circus show for what it is

Everybody seems to behaving as though LIV is some mighty entity that controls all in the world of Golf. Money aside what have they got – Tournaments that no one watches with weak fields, no ranking points, and with no Heritage. Not all golf players are Judas's – some are actually honorable Sportsmen (Rory, Tiger, Speith)

When all the top players are in the LIV league will the golf channel get off the bs with the Saudi government and cover them like they do other tours. It’s not going to get better for the pga and tournaments when all the marquee players are on the LIV tour. We watch golf for the popular players in the tournaments not for the upcoming players .pga will be a feeder league for the LIV tour.

Almost certain if I remember correctly all LIV players have to play all LIV events… Rahm may be able to play both LIV and PGA events but the downside to that is he won't be able to play certain events that align with LIV events (example; Waste Management tournament)

Read my comment below for more of my thoughts on this issue. What I like about LIV is: 3-day tournaments (4 days is too long), no cut (all players get paid), high purses (wealth attracts fans and TV), Global golf (new great courses and more countries involved), the best players in the world (Rahm, Koepka, DeChambeau, Johnson, etc.), and team play (keeps players focused and trying hard). What I don't like about LIV: loud music (noisy and distracting), shotgun start (removes introductions and drama from 1st tee), and not enough tournaments in the USA (which is the golf capital of the world). Even if the PGA Tour gets billionaire investors, they had better merge with LIV or they will lose many fans. Palmer, Nicklaus, and Woods proved without a doubt, it's the superstars that matter the most. They had better get those golf superstars back on their tour somehow someway, or it's sayonara, ciao, and adios.

Hoggard broadcasting from his "I LOVE ME" room. Golf media members are like ticks; once they've dug in, you have to deal with them for the next 50 years. Term limits on Golf Channel correspondents, please.
