This is just a pickle of mix messaging! What are your thoughts? Should it be a 2 way relationship
Great points for sure. Sponsors leaving are never a good thing
Its like the PGA makes terrible decisions on purpose. They have had this all wrong all along.
This is turning into a real clown show.
PUCC LIV GOLF !!!!!!
I certainly don’t have any insight into corporate spending or sponsorships but I think in general there is a real concern about the American economy in 2024. Companies are downsizing and families are scrutinizing their discretionary spending. Wouldn’t be surprised to see more companies reducing sponsorship across all sports.
Both Wells Fargo and Travelers are hemorrhaging money right now because of poor business decisions and increased insurance claims.
They will lose more so American sponsorships but I wouldn't worry because the PIF is wanting to make the professional game global so they will probably gain more international sponsors and pool the money.

way to go pga, you ran yourselves into the ground with your pearl clutching grandstanding bullshit
LIV is here to stay. The PGA and DP (Dubai Ports) no so much.
Once LIV receives OWGR points, the DP World Tour and the PGA Tour will be relegated to the position of feeder leagues for LIV, Majors, and Ryder Cup qualifying.
You forgot Honda also bailing on the pgatour
Also surprised you didn't mention Brooks Koepka showing the Nike logo Smash golf shoes
Inflation in the US is a real thing. Insurance rates have sky rocketed as well as claims from all of the catastrophe's throughout the states. They're not signing policies and are scrutinizing renewals, they just layed off 2400 people and supposedly there will be more coming. With that said it makes financial sense to stop spending money on sponsorships that really don't yield them any return on that investment. Losing money on an annual basis isn't good for shareholders as well. I believe your jumping to conclusions on your take about PGA and LIV, not sure that has too much to do with it looking at the big picture.
OMG your Audio is so Fkn low
Wait. The PGA Tour is still around? Dam. Really? Not BK yet?
Honestly the economy is not good, its more of a cost savings then the liv thing… they could be saying lets take a back seat and see what the pif merger plays out… im an american and i thought ricky should have went to liv. I would have
PGA ignore LIV AND GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS
The sponsors are leaving the PGA Tour is because of the foolish action the PGA has taken over the past 2 years when LIV came online. Their racial and discriminating actions toward professional golfer that when to the LIV showed their foolish mindset. Moreover, when they took the steps behind EVERYONES back to make a deal with LIV, resulted in them eating their own words. The PGA tour board and those on other tours are all idiots. They are in need of new leadership that can end the BS with LIV. Hence, why so many sponsor are leaving!
Corporate sponsorship of PGA tournaments is bad business, these companies have been looking to get out. Now with all the turmoil the decision to exit is easy. Professional golf needs Corporate or Private ownership of tournaments, not sponsorship of tournaments. Tournaments,or teams should be "franchises " like other Professional sports. LIV is heading in that direction.
I don't trust the PGA and the power brokers behind the scenes.
My opinion, is that the PGA tour is asking for more and more money to increase purses. The company's don't want to pay. They are not getting a good return for how many people actually watch. For the fans, do we really watch because of increase purses? Not Me anyway.
Jay Monahan is a study in failed leadership. A massive ego coupled with greed and a hunger for power. The PGA has done everything possible to guarantee their demise. What an absolute disaster. And lovely to watch.
Dell also pulled out.
I think the sponsors are getting cold feet because the elevated events are charging them $20 million and it’s missing too many of the top golfers including many of the LIV guys (like Rahm)…so not enough bang with the thinned out PGA lineup for the buck…
I think it’s quite the opposite Alex. The pga tour sponsor companies want to see the pga tour come to some agreement with pif and LIv so they are more likely to get more of the top players at their events.
These companies are not just leaving the pga tour because of the higher demands for money, they are leaving because all the players are leaving.
Once they know the players are coming back, they will come back To sponsor.
Some of these sponsors may go to sponsor LIv because they know who will be there and likely more coming.
Ultimately these companies want to be associated with the best golfers. They just don’t know where the best golfers will be right now. So why pay?
This is one of the many things the pga tour did not consider when they wanted to arrogantly disregard this considerable competition. They not only did that but found ways to insult this competition. And only once this competition broke them down did they come for an agreement.
It’s no surprise now it took so long to start. Not sure the pga tour knows what they want —even whom they want to lead them —as players had to kind of take over; meanwhile the pif guy seems to have a few other things outside of this little golf saga to handle; and seems happy to just keep chipping away at the Tour.
Imo.
World Events are happening where Banks and Insurance Companies are not making The $$$ as in the past……When 65% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, small business are closing down, selling Insurance to those who got the Jab is a real No…..just go by many a strip mall, there is a lot of open space for rent…When the saying "Go Woke , Go Broke" came out, they all thought Trump was crazy, but that's happening in real time….Just look at Budweiser, a woke spokesperson for Bud Light and the sales of The brand are down 25% for the past year….and yes those people working for Bud are losing their jobs over that dumb idea….and it's in most areas….. it's just not about LIV, but everyday life….
If someone does not pull Monahan out of the pga it's going to collapse.
PGA also lost Noble Health after 1 year of a 5 year contract
PGA is as we speak de identifying their health training trailers taking Nobles name off
Sponsors aren't getting good value, especially if the top players aren't there. They aren't leaving to avoid being associated with LIV, they're waiting for a deal with LIV to help guarantee more big names at each event.
I think you may find they will loose more sponsors if a deal is NOT done with LIV as the sponsors will be the ones forking out more money to keep the PGA tour competitive in the money stakes with PIF
Liv is a joke, its not serious golf
It's actually the other way round. The tour is weak and on unstable ground right now and businesses see this. Not really buying that big business is scared of Liv, didn't Nike just team up with Brooks and his team?
I haven’t looked too much into this, but as I hear, you, explain that Farmers Insurance is making some changes with regards to sponsorship of an event, and sponsorship with professional golfers, I believe this has more to do with insurance in general. For instance, Farmers Insurance can no longer offer homeowners insurance in the state of California, this is huge. But they had to stop providing homeowners policies because of all of the losses they were taken. With that said, I definitely think there’s more to it than just the live golf versus PGA golf as it comes to certain sponsors and whether or not, they can continue shelling out the big bucks or not. Just my two Cents. 👍
I can see PGA's point of view. If anything the discrepency in earnings. A new golfer trying to find a sponsor just to make ends meet playing with a LIV golfer who has been paid 100 to 500 million dollars or more. It creates jealouses/ friction and that is natural. Maybe Meta can step in and fund a couple of tournaments. If they can afford 430 million investment in the 2020 election maybe they could help out the PGA.
