You know what’s more disappointing, Jay Monahan still the commissioner
Rory is flipping next. So sad…
I thought Rahm was smarter. Guess not. It’s a lot of money of which I don’t know if it’s guaranteed or not. I just find it sickening that these professional golfers support a regime that suppresses others not like themselves. They support the same country, that didn’t get involved when 9/11 happened. I want nothing to do with these cowards or their families!
Jon Rahm looking like a WWE version of golf…This whole LIV league is a joke🙈🫤
Rory does not have much choice. LIV or do something else. It’s being forced fed like a baby and peas.
Replace these stars ? Gonna take a very long time. There aren’t too many stars left as it is in the PGA, and those that are left will be LIV players eventually.
Rory is the biggest clown in golf. Majority of the golf world will never understand how he has any fans.
He said that it will be disappointing to not be able to play him as often. Miss representing a quote is disappointing.
BAD FORM!!!
Remember golfers: it’s children first, wives second. Authoritarianism over democracy.
Sounds like he's opening up to leaving
Lol looks like Rorys publicist finally got him to not speak his opinion. What a good little englishmen England must be proud of their son Rory
Ahh.since it's John Rahm you want the rules changed. Hypocrite.
Very "disappointing" title come on Golf Channel. Rory is class.
Here's the deal. LIV plays not that many events. The PGA Tour needs to say their events to be held on weekends that don't hold a big PGA Tour Event, i.e. John Deer, etc. Big PGA Tour stars aren't gonna play in 3/4 of the PGA Tour events anyway. The PGA Tour needs to tell LIV players you are required to play in 12 PGA Tour events so their product can be promoted and please sponsors
"disappointing" is not the tag for this. Good try golf channel. Seems like you guys are nervous too trying to have click bait
2 faced. LUV LIV
They need to come to an agreement and merge. Have some traditional events and some LIV type events. Force some level of participation in each and move on. We the fans are suffering
This speech by rory is great. Shows you the respect they have between the two. I feel the way he does. Gonna suck not seeing John out there as often.
Rory is so gay and corny
You're both sadly and pathetically missing the point! Let's be honest. Jon Rahm went to LIV STRICTLY FOR THE 600 MILLION. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL PRO GOLFERS IS MONEY! Don't believe any of that nonsense about loving the game and titles being the most important. You can always judge people by their actions. Rahm and other golf stars chose the LIV money over anything the PGA Tour had to offer – history, titles, fame, legacy, or loyalty. I'm happy for Rahm. How could anyone in their right mind turn down 600m! Money is the most important thing in this world for 99% of the people. They all have a price, a number, they will accept. More PGA stars will leave for LIV, I'm sure of it. This might be the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. That will be a deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they have tried to monopolize pro golf. From the beginning, LIV has had a right to exist and recruit players, who of their own free will join it. Also, all of that talk about Saudi money being blood money because of the Saudi human rights violations and political murders is hypocritical nonsense. Look at the war crimes and murder the USA is supporting with Israel's murderous genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, for one clear example. USA money is blood money too. We live in a world where many corporations and companies make billions of dollars off of war and murder, or off of polluting the planet with smog and chemicals. So, all of the golf tours and professional sports are full of blood money. I don't like LIV's format or their loud music, but with all of that Saudi money involved it is here to stay. I do think we will soon see a merger of the two tours, because that will be the only way the PGA tour survives.
As more of the great players go to LIV you can be sure that Rory will start winning more tour events. Soon he can be up against rookies and at some point you have to wonder how good is he really these days? No competition or pressure makes winning golf tournaments so much easier which may be why Rory started surging back two years ago without the Dustin Johnsons or Koepca or DeChambeau.
It’s a lose-lose in the end. The PGA Tour will never be what it was and LIV will never be what the PGA once was, as well. May as well add 3 more leagues and water it all down some more.
Golf channel, PGA, and R&A need to get off their political “high-horse” before the sport can move forward in a productive manner. LPGA had no problem welcoming the PIF’s money; international soccer, nobody batted an eye. The list goes on. Keep politics out of golf or watch the PGA and DP Tour get left behind. Golf fans don’t want that. Good for Rahm and anybody that signs a big money deal with LIV, their families are financially set for life and they are smart for making that important to them.
If Rory had a Masters the conversation would be different. Same as Rahm
So much for legacy “John rahm “ fake
Good comments by Rory
…not the negative slant provided in the headline
Jon Rahm is a greedy hypocrite. I do not wish him well.
Everybody gonna price man
I think that so many of the old school golfers are so caught up in legacy that they don't realize the new world of economics. Legacy doesn't really mean jack to the new players under 30. It's kind of like whatever I accomplish then great but otherwise it's not an issue in my life. There is so much competition that very few players are going to get close to 10 majors and to them it's kind of like just a big paying tournament. The PGA is like an old man. Just stodgy and not changing and obsolete.
Now Rory can understand? Rory could have handled this entire situation better. It's been a decade since he won a major. All of his time at #1 doesn't mean much with the owgr tipping the scales. He will understand even more when him and Billy Horschel are headlining the John Deere Classic.
Don't really watch anything but the Majors anyway. Funny how LIV golfers dominated the Majors Leaderboards too. PGA must have been putting all that moving in their pockets…..LIV looks to be sharing the wealth.
Well rory being the pga mouth piece and wannabe enforcer is over now.
ALL THINGS ARE POSABLE FOR MONEY SOULD HIS SOUL TO PERSON WHO Murders American news people. Good John. Money is not everything
😮😮
Crying Rory omg he won’t stop crying
Yea, but last year, Rory was criticizing the other LIV players' characters.
So now that rahm leaves they have to rewrite the rules for Ryder but when Sergio does it he’s an ass? Rory will probably move next and eat his words
Money can buy anyone.
The Saudis have 750 billion dollars to throw at the players, and they love golf and they love LIV. With Koepka and Rahm gone, this is the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. A deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they wanted to monopolize pro golf and control their players. The PGA Tour having a cut and then half of the players in the tournament not making any money, even though it's their profession, is greedy BS. No other pro sports league treats their players so selfishly and so badly. There should be no cut, like LIV, and all of the players should get paid. If someone works, they should get paid! Also, from the beginning, the PGA Tour tried to control their players like slaves, telling them they could not play in LIV events, or they would be banned from the tour for life. That was horse shit. Pro golfers are independent agents who should be able to play in any tournament anywhere in the world anytime they want to. Sure, the PGA Tour has its stupid reasons to justify and rationalize its unfair and archaic ways, but they are learning the hard way that Money talks and BS walks.
Rory it's certainly looking like you're not going to be happy with the ultimate outcome of this merger. The LIV players that left the PGA will ultimately be welcomed back to be able to play in the PGA if they decide that's what they want to do. Those LIV players seem to be pretty happy with their decisions to play for LIV.
I do believe the PGA is over estimating the decision by these upcoming golf players to decide to play in the PGA and not with LIV.
Read my comments below for more of my thoughts on this issue. What I like about LIV is: 3-day tournaments (4 days is too long), no cut (all players get paid), high purses (wealth attracts fans and TV), Global golf (new great courses and more countries involved), the best players in the world (Rahm, Koepka, DeChambeau, Johnson, etc.), and team play (keeps players focused and trying hard). What I don't like about LIV: loud music (noisy and distracting), shotgun start (removes introductions and drama from 1st tee), and not enough tournaments in the USA (which is the golf capital of the world). Even if the PGA Tour gets billionaire investors, they had better merge with LIV or they will lose many fans. Palmer, Nicklaus, and Woods proved without a doubt, it's the superstars that matter the most. They had better get those golf superstars back on their tour somehow someway, or it's sayonara, ciao, and adios.
Sadly hypocritical after the stand he took against liv
Maybe Rory will win more now, he definitely can beat Tiger, because Tiger is done! PGA is over, all they talk about is Ryder cup, that the US , won’t be winning anytime soon. Who cares, it’s all about the Majors, that has nothing to do with the PGA. Without the best players you have nothing!
Rory is a perpetual cry baby hypocrite. Rahm can play Ryder cup but Sergio, Westwood, Heinrich can all pi$$ off as far as Rory is concerned. Also, don’t wave your hat at him….he will become extremely offended…. Time for him to grow up!!
He is next to move to LIV. He has tone down the criticism.
I wonder how many people have lost interest in professional golf as a result of this nonsense. I certainly have. I am playing more and watching less. Good for me!
Is there a bigger flip-flop fish than Mcilroy?! LOL
he'll soon be forgotten! hasnt been a factor for a few yearrs! it will never be professional sport!! its just alot if money to play golf!! f Dubai!! i hope they never mix!!
Rory will be next to jump to LIV. I can see it in his eyes.
