Smart move by Rahm
Rahm went for equity and is investing in world wide growth of the game. He sees the PGA model as not growth, but relying on legacy and loyalty. That is not a good business model. JM of the PGA Tour has lost the trust of their players so the Tour needs new leadership who have the interests of the game as their priority. This is how organizations evolve.
