Do we think HOVLAND is talking sense?
I for one am getting pretty sick and tired of the PGA Tour players continuing to say how poor the tour management is. They have done nothing but criticise since this whole debacle started. I have not heard one explanation of why they have been so poor. It is too easy just to say something is wrong or poor, explain why it is so wrong or so poor. Just saying there is a problem is not going to get anything fixed, you need to know what the problem is. Can anyone give just one example of where a player has described a particular problem in detail and then given the slightest hint of a suggestion as to what and how they would manage the situation any differently. And please do not suggest that the players’ claim that they are not being kept informed and if they were is going to fix one problem. Maybe there would be a benefit in not keeping them informed, it seems that every time the management of policy board send them an email it gets leaked. And just as an aside Viktor, you have won more prize money in 2023 than any other player on any tour, including LIV.
Some of the so said main guys of the PGA Tour seem to forget where they have made a name for themselves, golf for the most part is an individual sport. The reason why the Ryder Cup is a success is because they are not playing for money. Four man teams throughout a season is an idea that will never catch on among the masses, while there’s no doubt golfers should probably make more money they already make a lot when they are good, rewarding substandard golf with huge payouts brings the game down, paying out LIV purses is not sustainable or the PGA would have done it so end game is all the “current” top players go to LIV, LIV wins and then brings the purses down as the PIF is not there to lose money in the long term and we are back to where we are today, with a lesser product, less golf and the current crop of “current” top golfers are no where to be seen
If they loose 2 to 3 more high caliber players like victor or Speith or Scotty it’s over for the PGA – I’ve watch LIV, not all that impressed.
Jay Monahan is an absolute disaster… he should have been gone a year ago
This guy would love it if another mercenary left to join LIV.
Major suck-up.
Jay Monahan should resign before it's too late, if he remains, more and more players will leave. Bring in someone the players respect and lets look to a brighter future, if he stays the PGA couldn't lose the most talented player young player in Hovland. Losing Hideki, Finau and Cantley to LIV wouldn't be a bigger loss than Hovland.
It is the PGA Tour that is crashing and burning…hence, it is their debacle!
We all know it has always been about money no matter what any of these hypocrites say !! So being bought gives you more freedom Viktor ????
We never heard what Hoveland said what we heard was your interpretation which is meaningless !!!
LIV players not sharp! Please Victor, Brooks PGA champion, plus 5 of 6 DP World tour winners for pre Xmas season are LIV players. I'd say that's very sharp.
LIV will go down if it doesn’t change its format.
The clue should really be in the name. The Professional Golfers ASSOCIATION
The PGA should have changed to a team business model long ago. Pay any player with a tour card like a member of a team. If they sign up and show up for an event give them per diem for travel expenses, don't charge entry fees, pay them $10k just for attending, and pay some bonus base on how they finish if they make the cut. The better players will still make millions from endorsements but it gives lesser players or new tour players a way to make a living while learning their craft. Take the anxiety and pressure of making a living off the players and let them play comfortably to the best of their ability.
People who criticize LIV's format don't realize that it can change. It can also expand. The format is not chisled in stone. The LIV is not limited to a certain number of teams. They could even have team qualification events for weekend slots.
It's easy to lead an organisation with a monopoly and the only game in town because you have no competition and nothing to be compared to. You basically get to do what you want.
Now look at how incompetent the PGA leadership looks since LIV has emerged. They litterally are clueless and were completly unprepared for what they faced.
Thank god for ff.
LOL he's really delusional if he believes the PGA can't replace every single player on the tour and market them just like they are doing for him! Supply and demand, for every player on the tour, there are 10 more below him waiting to take their place and the next man up is always going to be the next big star (for marketing purposes)!! BIG BILLIONS talk and those players are just that………entertainment labor, so they might as well take the best deal they can get, wherever they can get it!
LIV golf is crap. I will not watch golf if all there is to watch is LIV type golf. Team golf is garbage. The Ryder cup is mildly interesting b/c of nationalism. Once every 2 years is plenty. The players are leaving for LIV for only one reason – MONEY – period. I agree that with you that the players should run the tour. I agree that, like Rahm, Hovland may only be trying to raise his price to go LIV. I also agree with Hovland that Monihan et al are putting their own interests ahead of those of the players. I can enjoy playing golf without watching on TV. Giving in to LIV and the Saudis is going to kill professional golf in the end. The players who got the big money are out for themselves and are fixed for life. But the game will suffer. When things turn around, they ones who left should not be allowed back. There will be plenty of great golfers coming up to replace them.
Poor Victor. He’s on his way to Liv. They all start this way.
How dumb are the PGA Tour radio guys are Well Jay made a deal with the Baseball guys and Now he wants to Negotiate with the PIF. So Jay Says it's a Three Way Deal SORRY NOT
Jay made a deal supposedly 50/50 with the PIF he goes out on His Grift and brings in a third party. Well Guess what Jay you made a deal with the baseball guys so your 50 % is now 25% because you CAN NOT renegotiate the PIF'S Part of the Deal you only had CONTROL OF YOUR SHARE. what an ARROGANT ASS !!!!!
Viktor should play the LIV Tour …. .Strike the IRON while it's still HOT !!! LIV could offer him easily a 50-100M deal …..
Do you really understand the PGA ? It’s the PLAYERS GOLF ASSOCIATION. !!! They OWN the TOUR……it’s their tour and they employ the likes of Moynihan !!!! Like the PFA when they took it back that’s what the tour should do !

It’s the pga debacle not Liv . If the pga had done what they need to do for their members then we would not be having this discussion!
No one cares about LIV.
Most employees of any company would not miss their CEO
No matter if you support LIV or not, it really still is BLOOD money! 🙁
I guess his so called crappie legacy had a price. Talk about talking 💩 and swallowing your own poop Rahm. I wonder what seve would have thought of you?
I hope pga can get sponsors or owners like MLB, NFL or nba etc. Why can’t they do that? MLB is like 30 teams and you are telling me pga can’t get sponsors?
Let those that went to liv rot without tv deals here in the states cause we know we don’t need them Saudis and they won’t get tv deals and most ppl will watch pga only. Let them rot playing for $. Bring up new young players and fire Monahan. Get someone competent and nasty to go after liv and the sand shark Norman.
"Pride comes before the fall." From God's word.
Viktor you don’t think the PGA has your best interests at heart! LMAO! Just wait until the Saudi’s get control of the game. You and every other player will be muted that doesn’t talk positive about LIV golf. They will absolutely own you. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. Weigh your decision carefully.
No cut for LIV as the fans want to see the stars for the three days not a no one who happens to play well for a couple of days, this is the LIV model the pgatour has now ramped up themselves. Yes there were pgatour events in the past that did this but LIV made it permanent. I would however like to see a roster for each team so the captain can sub in and out players.
