GC still in la la land. Liv golf already has most of the draw cards and arguably at least half of the better players, probably the upper hand already and if the PGA keeps trying to do deals to destroy them or at least, piss them off, then theyll keep writing checks. And every new player lessens the chance of real investors seeing real value. Just ask Wells Fargo.
You guys keep assumiing that LIV players want back in PGAT. I don’t think that’s the case at all. I think they would like to play majors and maybe some selected events , but I don’t think they want to return full time.
Interesting indeed. How many Americans will sell out for the same money used to attack and kill thousands of Americans. Remember 911? The day that would never be forgotten? How quickly did they forget. Or they just do not care. Whatever
Spiced Corn Beef is fabluous, boil in Cider from 90 minutes and then roast for an hour Yum Yum
Who is the bunk mate, is that a girlfriend or wife.
PGA tour players not banding together and doing something about it?? what a shocker! lmao hence why they don thave a union to rep thems, they ccant agree on shit among each other cause deep down they hate each other and want to beat them to a pulp…on the course obvs lol but if they dont realize the power they have right now, then they'll never have a players tour ever again, there taking power away from the players, concentrating in in top players, via owgr points, and making it harder to get to the show. greed.
I wonder if the better strategy for the Tour would be to pivot 180 degrees to be the "maximum freedom" tour. Want to play an event? If you are eligible based on your play, pay your entry fee and tee it up. If you want to play a LIV event, go with Tour blessing. Minimum number of events? Nah. If nothing else, this strategy would highlight that LIV is restricting their players, requiring them to play all their events, even if there is an opposing US/European event they would want to play.
Its comical seeing these two fumbling through their talking points.
LIV Golf hands down has the upper hand. It’s a 50/50 on whether it’s Jon Rahm or Scottie Scheffler is the best player in the world right now, and they have the more exciting of the two. LIV has the more exciting personalities for sure and showmanship can go far, if they are able to refine their product and make it more accessible for the public to watch it.
Tony, Max and Rickie are interesting golfers with a good following from PGA that would make an impact on LIV…and maybe one should look more to Europe, players that played with Rahm in the Ryder Cup, for players that may make the jump to LIV….
Players : your fired jay
Jay : do u know who I am ? ..
😂😂
The 3 players from the qualifying event is replacing the 3 players leaving…so they won't be on Rahm's team like you suggested. And there is no reason why LIV can't approach other players now…the PGA did and is still talking with other investors so that would be fair. With Rahm getting his own team, another 3 players is needed to fill that team. That would make it 13 teams, so another 4 players will be needed for the 14th team…so at least 7 players needed to fill those spot.
maybe the pga should have been offering a winning product for everyone the past 20 years instead of ruining the sport by turning it into a novelty sport, and themselves into little more than pushers of the novelty equipment that fuels the novelty sport.
professional golf is doomed. the soul is gone…the game is gone. there is no comparing what the great golfers of the past did against this novelty game of limited competition…all using drivers designed originally for HIGH handicap golfers.
did nicklaus or trevino or hogan or watson play with drives they could mishit 300 yards, or with drivers that had to be hit on the screws?
the modern game is boring and degenerate.
i love hearing this nonsense about 'top players'…as if they are anything more than the current batch of dancing monkeys, just as expendable as the rest…in an industry that has spent 20 years weeding out the competition of shot makers.
what's left are a few dozen clones that make the modern novelty game of golf the most boring and monochromatic it's ever been.
any truly smart brands would put up the money and start a new tour…something exciting as it used to be…before you know it, no one will care what john rahm does or shoots…or what happens on some novelty tour for limited competition cry babies.
here's an idea.
take away the novelty drivers, and return to traditional equipment on traditional courses…suddenly the world realizes that there are a thousand golfers better than the current batch…and a professional tour is revitalized, and exciting to watch.
Rahm over Scottie as player of the year easily. The Masters vs The Players is no contest because in 2023 the Players did not included LIV players, so it was a weak field in comparison to the majors. Also unlike Scheffler – Rahm actually holed putts inside 5 feet 😂 Giving the player of the year to a guy who putted as a bad as Scottie did in 2023 would be a joke
Jay Monahan didn’t call LIV an “irrational threat,” he called it an “existential threat.” Very different words.
Money is power the only card the pga hold is the fact they have the American golf market and all its sponsors Pif need this to make their worldwide dream to work and if they don't get it they will bleed the pga tour till it crumbles
Money is power .the Saudis have the billions and trillions behind them .the pga is an old outdated model of boring golf boys.4 tournaments are worth watching but the current commentary is stale and bias .I enjoy change and fast paced golf .hope jay doesn’t piss off the Saudi boys ,I hate to see what really deep pockets can do to this tour.whats sour Brandal going to do not cash his check after the Saudi boys own him to.enjoying this drama boys fun times.
Everyone should run from these men.
All the PGA tour needs to do is hold out for 5 years, by then most of todays stars that have left will have been forgotten, LIV will have lost 4 billion USD and the young stars will have come through to the fore. Monaghan is looking to cash in on all of the work his and the player’s predecessors have created. Sickening.
Whatever happened to "we play for the love of the game". More players letting themselves be bought by an oil-prince ?
Should be called "UnaLIV". It doesn't matter what they are guarantted to be paid. If they EVER talk bad about the SAUDI, their family and money will be Unalived.
There was no Ryder Cup last year it was mostly a competition between PGA Tour players and European players excluding LIV players was petty and hypocritical when Jay was trying to get PIF money secretly behind the scenes
