Rapaport LIES, such a company man. He knows Seth Waugh is the sole snake responsible for the orchestrated dismantling of American based golf called the pga tour. Monahan, Dunn, Herilhy, Yasir are all Keyser sozes for fans to chew on

I think a lot of people forget that LIV is aiming to be a world tour. A shotgun start, no cut, and 54 makes so much sense for a world format. The player can plan these trips, know they will be playing 3 days, and when they need to book a flight home. The fans know they will see the best players at one time and for 3 days… It's the only way in my mind a world tour could work for everyone.

The PGA Tour is the one with the problem and who allowed the gap for LIV to exost exactly because so many events were just skipped by pretty much 60% of the top 40 golfers week in week out. You would have some events where basically the entire top 20 just skip.

Added to that they created the Fedex Playoff system which was super confusing, which several top players will also skip some of the so called play off events.

There either is lack of engagement from top players to the tour to really commit to events, or there are too many events. Either way when LIV stepped in, they purposely scheduled their events to not coincide with the big PGA tour events so that the players who play LIV (on dates they would not have played anyway) could still play the big PGA events. Yet the PGA shat themselves and banned everyone.

    PGA screwed up

The closest sports to golf are Horse racing or F1 racing.

Golf is an individual sport. Instead of competing for fastest time, it’s competing for least strokes.

You can’t compare to normal sports.

Sometimes in racing sports, there are team racing versions.
It’s just like that with golf.

It’s also the only sport where most of the fans also enjoy playing the sport.

Most football fans are fat lazy couch potatoes that you would not catch playing any form of football outside therefore, it’s not a good sport for YouTubers.

Golf can probably have 100 times the amount of YouTube channels it has now and it will still work.

love or hate the shotgun start it does make for better tv coverage. once it starts you watch everyone no watching one pairing at 7am and waiting 4 hours to see if the second pairing you want to watch is even going to be covered.

Who wouldn’t want to watch and shotgun start all 18 holes in one broadcast compared to coming on the 10th hole with the last four groups. Give me a break. If you’re missing the point the TV coverage is so much better with live. It’s insanity I get to see all the golfers 04 hours. It’s just a matter of cameras. The TV is willing to put out their way better in the wind and the rain is equal for everybody shotgun starts all local tournaments or shotgun starts. The problem is as you’re trying to hang onto the stumpy puppy. We’re rich you’re not there’s a private club attitude and it sucks if you want golfers an average golfers to pay attention you have to pay attention to average golfers that don’t have the money for country clubs.

I would like to see PIF create a world tour with the best players in teams building their brands, playing in an extended Ryder Cup type of competition…and the PGA, DP Tour, Sunshine Tour, Asian Tour being the feeder tours for this world tour. For the immediate future I would like to see LIV add a you tube element for 2024/ Rahm will get his own team so at min another 3 players will have to jump ship. But then there will be 13 teams…so at least another 4 players will be needed to make 14 teams. But if they then add another 2 more teams, it will be 16 that makes more sense (16 to 8 to 4 to 2). And should they add say GoodGood (they have pro's like Luke Kwon, Brad Dalke, Sean Walsh, Ben Hadden and you can throw in Garrett because it's his baby) they will have another +-2 mil fans/followers immediately…

You Tube golf has changed the specs of the average golf follower…and LIV has done the same. They are younger, like the relaxed way golf is now played and more and more people are taking golf up now because of that. The elite snobbish image of golf is being shrugged and it's becoming a people's sport (hopefully the cost of equipment and membership fees recognize this soon as well)…maybe just in South Africa but if you here about 60% have drinks in their carts and about 40% have speakers in their carts playing music on. Anyway, you mentioned that LIV doesn't have viewers…if it was broadcasted people will watch! Just like with OWGR, the PGA has been "forcing" their partners to pick their side. With the best players on LIV there is no justification to not broadcast it. You keep getting back to Tiger…why? He was great…and for a short while people will be rooting for him to be great again but that's it. PGA got Tiger out of sickbay in order to try and stop the bleeding of fans to LIV. Golf is way more than just Tiger, Rory, Spieth and JT…PGA is done and LIV will take over, they will have the best players after the next at least 7 players join…watch this space.

The plan was clear from the outset with LIV – add something to the pro golf world that didn't exist – such a shame that so much hate has been directed at individuals and groups, because that intent was rejected, by one organisation.

Bubba is always great value, whether it's a 30 second tik tok or an in depth interview like this. 👍

It's tough to take any of your opinions seriously when you have never even been to a LIV event to experience how great of an experience it is. I am 51 and have been to two PGA events in my life. In the past two years I have been to over triple that number of LIV events. The reason was because it was so much fun and inexpensive, I had to take my family and friends. It's like taking 10 friends to a football game but 5 came only for the tailgate party because they don't care for football. Those 5 people still have a great time. People don't need to even like golf to have a great time at a LIV event.

The problem with these guys is that there is such a focus on the US perspective for success as opposed to globally. Cricket isnt popular in the States, but it is phenomenally popular worldwide.

PGA of America will try to hold on to the PGA Championship to spite the Tour. That 1960s split still had wounds that cut deep.

If this format is so great, why aren’t the LIV fans/players advocating for the majors (and the Masters specifically) changing to 54-hole shotgun starts with a team play aspect?

  32. @2Thes22 says:

Guys, the end game is that the top 48 or 64 players in the world would play 10-12 times per year in a format which is a combination of WGC and Ryder Cup. Players then play 5 other big events plus 3 FedEx Cup events plus 3-5 other regular PGA events at their choosing. The PGA Tour still exists with regular events earning FedEx and OWGR points.

Saudi wants the PGA tour to legitimize themselves and that’s been the entire plan! LIV never legitimatizes anything. LIV exists as a Trojan horse to fracture the PGA so PIF could take a controlling interest. Once this all comes together LIV goes away, people are so gullible thinking they are doing this to change the game.

The PGA is in serious trouble at this point. It’ll turn into the equivalent of the Korn Ferry for LIV if they don’t play their cards right.
