So he wants LIV golfers to just pick and choose which PGA completions they want to play. But can PGA golfers just form a team and drop into any LIV tournament they fell like. Sort of screws up the 48 competitors format LIV use.

Team golf led by ex American college golfers. Can’t cut it on your own join a team, by invitation only, start of franchise teams and super leagues. Some who have joined have found themselves out in the cold, not good enough to stay in, rejected by their teams. Look out you older players as the new young golfers coming out of the amateur ranks will see the easy money and push you out. Signing on fees will be much less, retaining fees will also be smaller, bye bye vets.

There should be a negotiated space for both formats. PGA Tour with qualifying and cuts..including the Majors. (Dress code long pants)
LIV Series with Individual and Team competition at various venues internationally.
(Dress code either long or short pants)
A example in cricket terms would be 5 day Tests as to 1 day Internationals or T20
Totally different formats..but continue to exist anually without any problems.
The important issue though..is that the future of golf is not harmed in any way!

What will be very satisfying will be if the PGA finds their own solid investors, and says NO DEAL to LIV…..and by the way NO MAJORS…..ever again for the traitors……..i.s no history, no tradition, no legendary status….bye bye……

I like DeChambeau, but on this point he is dead wrong.
The basting music on the golf course is bloody irritating and really distracts from the beauty of the game. I for one f–king HATE it and don't watch LIV for that one reason alone.

P.S. Aside from the money, the other reason older players are going to LIV is so they can juice with impunity. Phil hitting 330?… Give me a break he's not taking HGH, etc…

LIV is a gimmick. 54 holes is not a golf tournament. How many 54 hole leaders folded (especially Norman) in the last 18 holes of a 72 hole tournament. However, don't fault the guys for going after the money. Do fault Norman for ruining a great sport.

LIV has no business model because it’s not a business. It’s a vanity project by the king of a country who doesn’t care how much money he loses. LIV has already lost over a billion dollars but they don’t care at all about that.
LIV is a horrible joke and it sure as hell isn’t a business.

The PGA secured their own demise when they created the FEDEX Cup. Before that the majors were the tournaments with the best golfers and the largest purses. These were tournaments that went back in time and were truly classic. With the creation of the FEDEX Cup, the best fields and biggest purses are now associated with ads for a shipping company. The PGA can no longer claim to be the preserver of golf history. They are just another sport that tries to get the most money possible in the hands of its organizers and participants.

When the PGA had history on its side then it could claim some eyeballs despite golf being generally less interesting and exciting to the average sports fan than sports like football, basketball, etc. But now that the PGA is all about the money, there is now no reason to choose golf over any of the other sports. LIV may be better or worse eye-candy than the PGA or DP, but they all pale in comparison to football, basketball, etc. If golf scaled down its expectations then it could survive. Unfortunately, Tiger showed that at least one golfer can make football money. Now all of the top golfers expect Tiger money but that money is not available from the sale of tickets, ad sales, or corporate sponsorships. If it wasn't for the Saudi's throwing money at LIV, the whole golf enterprise would be going the way of the Professional Bowlers Association.

LIV golf may have reams of money to throw around, but I find it a little boring and more of a carnival atmosphere. The traditions of this great game are important , and should be paid heed. The game needs drama and excitement , balanced. It's almost a blend of physical skills , strategy and mental strength that gives it it's unique place in history.

The great thing about LIV is if one of the players has a huge lead you lose interest for last round. But LIV winning team usually goes right down to the last hole. You are watching two tournaments and everyone is playing in same weather conditions. 😊⛳️😇😉
