I'll never forget when Funk won the Players and threw his hat down… he showed the bombers that the shorter guys could still get it done. As far as underdogs go that was my second favorite win.

Love Fred, he’s such a good guy…… he’s 100% correct that the PGA tour has been the “bully on the block” …..the PGA is all about control versus what’s in the best interest of all players and caddies… it’s why LIV will thrive…

It is all about the money on all sides, the tour, sponsors, events, and every chain in line. The difference is one side is willing to pay more to grow the game. If you believe sports don’t grow without fan reach and total dollars invested you are a fool.

Fred’s 100% correct concerning “It’s All About The Money” But listen to what Mickelson said a few years ago about the Tour. The Money never was For the Players But The Tour and their phoney Charity designation.

It’s all about money and making money for team owners now and in the future, including players moving to the LIV who will be owners or part owners and part of the elite few. Money money money.

If the bad thing about Liv is “it’s only about the money” then why is the pga creating elevated events forcing the sponsors to come up with more money? Sure they need to keep the current players there but the PGA players don’t need elevated events if they are against making more money. It’s always about the money everywhere you look. And playing fewer events allowing players to spend more time with family and doing other things were said by Liv players so it’s not ALL about the money. Mostly yes, but not only about the money. The critics should talk to the Liv players directly and hear their comments and then make an informed comment. How many of the critics have done that.

He expects the individual players to say no… but it’s ok for the pga tour’s executives to take the money… such a self serving logic bc he doesn’t have a LIV offer and he wants to make sure his pension and champ tour is funded. Lost a ton of respect for him.

Jon Rahm and all the other LIV golfers must support the oppression of women. It's a shame that these men, who live in free societies, work for and endorse a society that oppresses women as semi slaves. What a sad, sad statement they are making. The PGA needs o get together with women's organizations and national politicians and go after LIV Golf in a huge way.

The PGA tour players who jumped ship and joined LIV Golf are now owned by the Saudis. The Saudis know that humans can be bought. And buy they did. They bought weak money hungry PGA tour players. I don't blame the Saudis for what they are doing. However, I have lost a great deal of respect for the players who sold their soul for the dollar.

the pga tour has become more boring and stale ever since the introduction of novelty clubs made driving distance the central theme of golf…then the pga lengthened the courses so ONLY a handful of long drive contest golfers could compete, effectively eliminating over half the competition, and reducing the pga tour to a circus of ever increasing driving distance by ever more sophisticated technology as the center of it's 'professional' thrust…NOT shot making and control of the clubs…NO.
then add to that the ridiculous nature of the q school that almost ensures that no real local talent will ever show up at a professional tournament again and display that talent to the golf world…no more ben hogans…no more lee trevinos…and no more gary players, because unfortunately gary is not 225 pounds…so he CANNOT be a professional golfer anymore!!
    hahahahahahaha…
keep blaming liv golf, and the money. if it wasn't for the GREED of the pga in becoming the pusher of novelty equipment in the destruction of traditional golf, then there wouldn't be such an opportunity to simply offer the dancing monkeys of today's tour MORE MONEY to dance somewhere else…it's not about the history anymore, it's not about the chance to compare oneself with jack nicklaus anymore…NO…it's about 'clubhead speed'!!
    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahaa
professional golf sucks. if you want that to change, take away the novelty equipment and shorten the courses back to competitive range for all golfers, and open up the tournaments to monday qualifiers again. why should these spoiled cry babies continue to compete against each other with so much exemption? open up golf to competition, and it becomes exciting again. that's the only answer. all the money in the world won't make the novelty game comparable to it's past. professional golf today is DOOMED, and it ought to be.

the pga had one job to do…KEEP golf pure. keep the continuity of the game, as it had been since at least bobby jones. the equipment was meant to be NEUTRAL…exactly the opposite of what we have today with 'club fitters'…multi million dollar trailers full of multi million dollar equipment tweaking capabilites, so that so-and-so's slice can be contained by 'customizing' their clubs…even if that means week to week!! hahahahaha…
who are these 'golfers', and can they hit an actual driver that is designed to accentuate the spin from your shitty golf swing, and not eliminate it?
imagine these linebackers having to hit an actual driver and wound ball off the tee…how many are such 'great' golfers now? the truth is half of them could not keep the ball on the course, and could not score.

0:24: “How do you say NO to that kind of money?” Out of this moral dilemma have been written many great pieces of literature. But right now, it feels like a farmer is slaughtering a flock of golden geese. If you wish to destroy a capitalist institution, how do you accomplish it? By flooding it with money.

The most telling thing he said was "The tour was always the bully on the block"…That's right and that was their down fall…Guys were tired of getting bullied around and then along comes another tour offering more money…Would have been an easy decision for me…He's also wrong about the family side of the decision…Yes, the money is the first part but then when you throw in more home and family time it just sweetens the pot…

If you think about it, the WORLD of GOLF doesn't need the PGA Tour.
The entire WORLD of golf needs to change FOR the world and remove this Americentric focus that had been in the 20th century, is why LIV had to come along. The 3 "majors" being in the US seems so out of place when all other GLOBAL sports actually PLAY AROUND THE WORLD, including tennis, soccer, MotoGP, F1, as examples. THAT is what needs to happen with golf, and the time is now for the organisations to get together and create a WORLD TOUR based on the tennis one, with a major in 4 or 5 continents and relegate the current American system. The American entitlement to the majors system is what's wrong and if the Americans can't deal with the changes, then LIV and PIF will continue to buy up the other Tours making GLOBAL CONNECTIONS, it can also establish its own Ruling Body.
The Ryder Cup needs to go away, it is an anachronistic event based on COLONIALISM and should be erased completely if the world of golf wants to be inclusive of the Global players actually playing the game around the world.
This is a great opportunity to borrow from tennis and soccer and F1 and MotoGP and other global sports that compete against and around the world's nations.
So tired of this American focus, this American focus is what's holding everybody back in the WORLD of golf

The reality is that the Saudis want to own golf. LIV isn't an alternative, it's a joke. They only want stars, and you have to play in the PGA (or the DP World Tour) to become one. They are using LIV as a lever to blow up the game so they can own it all. It's a money fight and the PGA doesn't, and never will, have their resources. No matter how this ends it will end badly for the sport, because the casual viewer is already tuning out.

There's is a fundamental difference between how PGA is sponsored and how LIV is sponsored.

All companies sponsoring PGA are responsible to their shareholders while LIV is mainly sponsored by PIF, Saudi's free oil money responsible to none.

If PIF becomes a company listed in the stock exchange floating shares to the public, then there shouldn't be any problem.

LIV is just luring players with lots of easy money only available to the Saudis.

Good for hungry and insecured players, but bad for the spirit of golf.

"How do you say no to all that money?" Easy answer: If you're Phil, or Dustin, or Rahm you realize you're already rich beyond anyone's wildest dream, you realize that you already have generational money. Next you realize that the guys giving you all that money are the same vile murderers who killed 3,000 people on 9/11 and you refuse all that money on moral grounds. It's really that simple. And yet they don't refuse it. That's why the LIV guys have lost all my respect and are dead to me. They've shown that when all is said and done they value the money more than the legacy of the game, their place in its history, and their own self-respect. The September 11 Golf League has ruined golf forever over one shameful human element: greed. The LIV guys are spineless.
