Nike offered Koepka “$2Billion” for Koepka’s Team Smash. Nike goes where the money is. Saudi owned companies spend $47 Billion per yr in advertising on the PGA Tour. Notice how many Sponsors are dropping out of the Tour now?(Farmers, Wells Fargo) hmmm.

Comparing Nikes golf equipment departure with their clothing sponsorships is apples and oranges.
Remember Nike left balls and clubs in the middle of their contracts. But they are not doing that now.

I still do not think Nike is leaving the pga tour or LIv. And I do think sooner or later —looks like sooner— Nike will play a big role in LIv and brooks team. It is interesting brooks never had any logos on his shirt or hat. His first smash logo is on his shoes. Some day I want to hear brooks explain all this.

The big question is why tiger left Nike. tiger probably feels he can be even more prosperous doing his own thing. I look forward to learning what that next venture is for tiger. I would love to see a logo with a BIG tiger fist pump.

Calm down, it's just a troll by Koepka. Nike isn't aligning with LIV, there is no money in doing so, and they won't be buying Koepka's team either.

Koepka trolling would be awesome! At the same time I could easily see Nike looking at the age demographic of Liv consumers and thinking thats where they'll do well in potential apparel sales, and especially sneaker sales! The average age of a PGAT viewer is 64, not exactly a market place rife with sneaker sales opportunity! I think Nike execs saw the wild scenes at Liv Adelaide last year when Chase Koepka made the ace on the "watering hole" and thought to themselves "everyone of those crazed fans" was a potential Nike customer!!! The Liv golf tour has established themselves as a global tour, so why wouldn't a global brand like nike not see the potential there?

Why is anybody shocked a company that promotes child labor is hooking up with a Saudi golf league? Nike is trash anyway.

If Nike is smart they would align themself with LIV. Its the future. LIV's audience is global and aged 10-45. This constant referencing to Tiger is comical. He is done. Why do you think Nike stopped paying him.

I feel bad for the players that turned down 100+ million contracts for some misguided loyalty to the PGA, because when all is said and done LIV is the future of golf and they will end on the LIV tour without the signing bonus or owning their own team franchise. I think Rory may be beginning to realize this and that the PGA & DP World Tour ships are sinking.

    1. Brooks is a Nike Golf guy
    2. Brooks is a Srixon guy
    3. US golfers that are Srixon will be outfitted by Nike.

This has been out for a bit now that Srixon and Nike will be together. Research it

I'd imagine Nike will sponsor Brooke's whole team. They are probably trying to capitalize off more of this team model they use in college. Maybe Brooke's will be like the "coach" and receive a big cut and then require his teammates to be part of the Nike package, with them getting a smaller team share and their own individual deal. Nike doesn't need to have a golf specific line. Many people (and average golfers) are just looking for quality athletic leisure wear. That could be Nike, Lulu Lemon, Brady or whatever. It doesn't need to have a golf ball emblem on it.

Once you get a guy like Rahm on the roster thè interest in LIV jumps by oŕders of magnitude.
For example, last year Adelaide wanted LIV to lift their cap on tickets available. Can you imagine what Valderrama will be like this year!!!???
LIV is like a pantheon of All Stars with a great mix of champions of all ages. Why do you think Rory is singing a different tune now?
There will always be people who want to see Tiger for the greatness he was. But he is not going to be the headliner he was.
This whole issue of the Team Business Model is probably still working out what it means for investors. Does an investor want some portion of the profits or do they just want the commercial exposure? Will it be like the naming rights for stadiums??

NIKE going with Both LIV & PGAT. It’s just business. TW brand for NIKE was loser deal. Folks were just buying NIKE Golf apparels, not TW. It’s not Sir Air Jordan Brand. NIKE want to sell products around the World, not just North America

    1. Nike will definitely go with LIV due to the global tour, reaching out to younger audiences

    2. Tiger is going downward. Kinda boring stuff in the long run. As a corporation, Nike would want to invest in something new and bigger rather than a stagnant personality who plays a few rounds of tournament per year.

BTW, Don't be surprised if Team Smash is wearing Nike Jumpman golf attire, as it's well known Michael Jordan wants a stake in the men's professional golf game and it's no coincedence he's in Dubai this week. Rumor has it he's had meetings with Yasir Al-Rumayyan and Norman to explore ownership options. It's no secret that MJ hates Tiger and there's a lot of speculation Nike killed it's deal with him at Jordan's behest, as he wants no competition with his Jumpman golf apparel line. Now that Tiger's out, Jordan's in. In fact, the shoes in Koepka's tween look to be Nike Air Jordan Low G's. Connect the dots. Wouldn't surprise me if Jordan has an ownership stake in Team Smash.

Nike doesn’t have to “leave” the PGAT to support LIV teams, but I would think they would allow athletes out if they have an issue with it. As far as Phil goes, he was wearing Jordans on the course for a few events on LIV and majors I believe last year so it could have been in the works.
