The only way to fix this would be for the players to start an association or player's union. Take the power away from the PGA.

John’s guest is talking about PGAT get Jan to Aug. & LIV get Sept to Dec. So let LIV have the crummy months. OK. That’s not happening. Summer is Golf’s Hot season around the World.
PGAT & LIV have to share the dates, PGAT in the US & LIV in other countries.

I said PGA was acting in bad faith when the deal the announcement was pushed to 31 Dec and again after that, and that they were just playing for time to get another deal done while preventing LIV taking more players…says a lot about the people from PGA that it was the case. The people that will "score" the best from this deal is Jay (worked for Fenway before and 'm sure his commission on this deal will make his 2023 earnings look like pocket change) and Tiger Woods (currently a Has-Been and mostly in sickbay – not dis-respectful just honest). There was anyway no reason for a merger. Tours should stay separate. If a tour wants to keep players or attract players, they have to make their product better and more attractive for the players. By punishing players and tours by using influence on partners against other tours you just look like a bully enforcing his territory (monopoly)…and you'll loose more than you'll win. Leave the players and tours alone and let them play where they want to. Like said, if you want to keep players or gain players, make your tour and product better… Then create a "World Tour" like Greg Norman envisioned when he pitched the idea to the PGA in 1994, and have the top 10 or 20 of each tour (PGA, DP Tour, LIV, Asian Tour, Sunshine Tour) against each other if you want. Why does all things golf need to be by and for the PGA…? The Majors will have to come round to allowing and inviting LIV players. If not they can't promote it as tournaments where the best play against the best to determine their champion golfer of the year…if not it will eventually just fade into just another PGA Tour Elevated Event/s. OWGR is already irrelevant and everybody knows who are the best and that it's not reflected by OWGR. LIV has a very strong field every tournament…PGA doesn't…TV bosses at some stage will realize who fans wanna see play and where Advertisers want to be associated with. Something that should worry all these pro-tours is that YouTube Golf creators have more eyeballs than the pro's…

PIF should take 1 (maybe less needed) of those plenty billions and make 8 of the top players offers they can't refuse and finally break PGA's back…that's what they should have done before end of last year. Take Hovland, Fleetwood, Day, Finau, Fowler, Xander, Max Homa and Cam Young away and PGA will be left begging…and then LIV can name their demands. PS: Rumours Anthony Kim might be playing on LIV from beginning March as 1 of the 2 wildcards…let's see if it happens

Solid segment, John. It's pretty sad when (1) the best players in the world don't even want to play 4 rounds or lame weekly tournaments (2) an amateur enters the field and beats 156 pros – that's like JJ McCarthy starting for the Chiefs and winning the SB

The PGA Tour is not broken. Great players have always come and gone and they are replaced by new great players. Nicklaus, Palmer, Snead, Nelson all came and went and the PGA Tour abides. Now we have the Speiths, Shefflers, Thomas' and who knows who else will come from the colleges and feeder tours. We will forget Rahm just like we have forgotten Dustin Johnson. They are all replaceable. The LIV Tour will die on the vine, if the PGA Tour does not bail them out. PIF pays for everything. PIF pays the players, rents the courses they play on, even pays for tv time. LIV is a glorified infomercial that nobody watches. LIV will last only as long as PIF is ok with losing money. Look at the LIV Schedule… not a single corporate sponsor. I do not believe Jon Rahm, the competitor that he is, will be happy with two and three weeks between tournaments. The more tournaments LIV adds the more money PIF loses. I know I am not getting on a plane to go to Indonesia or Australia to watch Jon Rahm play golf. I do not believe U.S. media wants to put all their equipment and personnel on planes to International venues to show LIV on U.S. tv. So LIV will not get the exposure it needs to become relevant. The PGA Tour should just let them go.

All of the most likable or hateable players are now on LIV. Who cares about McElroy, Xander, Cantalay “Mr Hat doesn’t fit”, or Scotty S? Boring and arrogant!!!!!
The one thing that the PGA must do – is terminate Jay Monahan! He screwed this pooch from day 1 of LIVs emergence.

Its not just golf these days that's broken. Everything is broken. Do you really want the money big bucks Saudi's to take over golf? Call him 'His Excellency' Lol! LIV golfers went for the money, I get it. But no one really watches LIV. Its a phony 3 round circuit with shot gun starts just like any bush tournament, and everything caters towards spoiled brats. Take the money boys you can pay your gambling debts, spend more time with your wife and you don't need to play golf ever again.

I'm confused.. is the pgatour and the OWGR the same organisation?!!? Go Hero World Challenge 😮!! … nearly 50% of the top 100 players are Americans, it's just not a true reflection of the best players on this planet… Tiger and Rory can play golf very well but they can not fix the golf world.. OWGR sux and so the Majors will soon suffer.

Watched the Pebble beach, saw no Celebrities and was boooring. Course looked great few players played well but the commentary just wasn’t there the way I’m used to with Gary McCord etc. LIV seemed much more lively and upbeat but I now just mostly watch YouTubers play with Bryson and the good good boys, Paige Spiranac etc.

LIV is pretty fun to watch, this first event in Mayakova has been a banger, problem is lot of Muppets bought the propaganda campaign against LIV, can't spell Murica without brainwashed, anyway give LIV a chance, way more fun that randoms + Rory the tour

John, I don't think the rank and file want any of the LIV players back on tour and I don't think the LIV players want to play on the PGA tour. I haven't watched a PGA event since LIV started. I am 55 and have been watching since I was a kid and am tired of the same golf courses and watered down fields. At least with LIV I know the players in the event unlike the PGA non-elevated events.

Spot on. PGA field is just so weak. I flipped between LIV Mayakoba and Pebble and I actually preferred LIV. The field in LIV had more big names, and actually the telecast was a little lighter. Now with the PGA that the field is weak they try so hard with announcing to make it feel weighty and important — and that feels ridiculous.

PGA represents the old guard that is slowly being removed. Liv represents the new guard coming in to do things the right way. Let’s hope the same thing happens this election. Power back to the people.

The PGA killed the PGA. It's nothing more than an "event organizer" who's business model is "nonprofit". The PGA staff held up all sponsors to fund their life styles, and never took care of their players which are THE commodity. Golf will be religated to the majors while LIV will be just fine with 13 events.
