LIV is a dud. Professional golf is broken, and we can argue about who broke it but what has happened is not good for the game Golf is unique. Maybe we just stop watching but we will always love being on the course…..except a Trump course

Lol yeah iconic venues like the same TPC courses every year. And just because you dont watch LIV golf does mean people dont. I like LIV more because they try more and edify their players more. They also have 10x the better commentary than the ones who broadcast the PGAT. Just excuse this guy for pleading the case for his employer

HOORAAA – PAUL IS AHEAD OF THE PACT IN UNDERSTANDING WHAT HAS TAKEN PLACE IN ENTERTAINMENT GOLF AND THE PSYCHOLOGY OF WHERE GOLF NEEDS TO GO. THE FANS ARE EXHAUSTED, TIRED, AND THEIR INTEREST HAS DIMINISHED. GOLF ENTERTAINMENT SURVIVES BASED ON HOW WILLING THE FANS ARE TO "PAY THE BILLS". THE GOLF ENTERTAINMENT BUSINESS HAS DRIFTED TOWARDS OBLIVION. DINOSAURS ARE GONE BUT NOT YET FORGOTTEN. TIME TO CHANGE FOR THE BETTER AND FAST. IF THE LIV TOUR LANDS A BROADCASTING DEAL THE PGA TOUR AND THE NEW INVESTORS MAY GET HUNG OUT TO DRY.

Dumb question rich. You don’t get rich on hints.
But even still rahm would never ever ever come close to the kind of money he signed for.
There is no going back on the mistakes that were made.
Even with this signing where Jay sold who knows how much of the pga tour to rich investors for what accounts to chump change for Yassir.
The writing has been on the wall boys.
Mcginley went nowhere with his rant. Fans want better coverage. More shots. And less people talking. That’s the last thing these golf channel people want to hear.
Even these golf shows almost never show golf shots. Even when there is no drama, no golf shots. It’s ridiculous.
    Get it together.
You make your money on golf shots. Use them
    Already.

Paul is right…rich men trying to get richer doesn't make the average person want to watch more often. This may really help out the LPGA.

Golf is NOT in a good place. You’ve become a mechanical enterprise. Team golf is a joke. Golf is one man versus the course and the conditions. LIV is a joke. Rahm bailed out for money. I’ll still play and watch, but it’s very boring this year so far.

LIV sucks most of the time but as much as I agree with the bulk of what Paul says- it’s also slightly hypercritical

Remember if u go woke. Your probably gunna go broke. The PGA has been leaning to the left side of the political spectrum over the last few years.

Paul must not of watched the LIV tournament in Australia last year when people flew in from all over 75 thousand fans and the hole in one on par three was the greatest celebration I ever saw at any golf tournament. Paul McGinley is so biased and unfair the only place he fits in is on the PGA Central propaganda show. 😜😝😂

I may be in a minority but I’m tired of watching players hit 150 yard wedges to iron flat greens and the winner coming in at 33 under for four rounds… I want to see 3 or four under win on testing (and scenically beautiful courses absent highways in the background of every third shot), courses. There’s a reason the majors are the highlight of the year. They’re played to that formula.

The PGA tour that once was the stage where golf's greatest performed is gone replaced with money hungry anybodies who think they are somebodies…not a sport anymore a business.

Paul is spot on. We need to put in perspective what this SSG deal brings in relation to what PIF has spent so far. Norman, Rahm, Mickelson that’s a billion. LIV prize money per event $40m so there is $1.2billion add in all the other costs of players etc. you are not far off $3 billion in the first three years of operation.
These announcements started off with ‘growing the game’ and in none of these announcements are there any concrete steps being taken for that to happen. All this is about making the elite back pockets fatter , end off. Sports sponsorship is a very competitive field and sponsors want a return on their investment, and there is a real danger sponsors keep on walking away from golf (Wells, Honda) because the way they are being treated , men’s professional golf becomes less attractive to be associated with and men’s professional golf prices itself out of the market.
Unless we see concrete ways of moving the product forward, and that is simply not bigger prize funds and more events in a few years time the money will be spent, the elite players will be even richer and money will dry up. The root cause of this problem started with players were being told they were not rewarded appropriately and it’s that greed will damage men’s professional golf.
Three billion from SSG does not solved that problem it just gives some breathing space. PIF could overnight throw another three billion at the sport but the product remains fragmented and becomes less attractive by the day. These announcements are distractions from the men’s professional golfs underlying problems, and there is very little visibility of anyone solving that problem.

Golff will now be like the NBA. Ratings will drop like bird crap. I've tried to watch a LIV golf tournament and fekt like I was watching a national member/member tournament. Might as well add cheelearders and beer cart on the course. Its a joke.

Watching the best players compete IS what we want. On any tour. The PGA started promoting division because they want control. Money, not growing opportunities, is their game.

Those complaining are just a bunch of sore losers who need to work on their game. Everywhere you look golf is taking off leaving all other major sports behind in terms of newcomers and overall sales. Players are taking money because they are at least smart to know they could have one more shot before the amateur takes his card. These players owe you guys nothing! They owe their families and those got them there. If you dislike the game in todays golf, we’ll your taste is lackluster to say the least. These kids are exciting to watch and amazing shots from all areas. Bunch of ole cry babies!!

There used to be time when the majors would guarantee the best golfers in the world, now thats not possible when LIV golfers are barred. Me personally I watch LIV, have grown up battling against the golf establishment, At least LIV will give access to more new golfers around the globe unlike those monopolizing TV companies.
