Is money the only reason golfers play in LIV Golf?

Let's be honest, and golf is supposed to be a gentleman's game full of honesty, as well as integrity, etiquette, and politeness. Jon Rahm went to LIV STRICTLY FOR THE 600 MILLION. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL PRO GOLFERS IS MONEY! Don't believe any of that nonsense about loving the game and titles being the most important. You can always judge people by their actions. Rahm and other golf stars chose the LIV money over anything the PGA Tour had to offer – history, titles, fame, legacy, or loyalty. I'm happy for Rahm. How could anyone in their right mind turn down 600m! Money is the most important thing in this world for 99% of the people. They all have a price, a number, they will accept. More PGA stars will leave for LIV, I'm sure of it. This might be the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. That will be a deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they have tried to monopolize pro golf. From the beginning, LIV has had a right to exist and recruit players, who of their on free will join it. Also, all of that talk about Saudi money being blood money because of the Saudi human rights violations and political murders is hypocritical nonsense. Look at the war crimes and murder the USA is supporting with Israel's murderous genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, for one clear example. USA money is blood money too. We live in a world where many corporations and companies make billions of dollars off of war and murder, or off of polluting the planet with smog and chemicals. So, all of the golf tours and professional sports are full of blood money. I don't like LIV's format or their loud music, but with all of that Saudi money involved it is here to stay. I do think we will soon see a merger of the two tours, because that will be the only way the PGA tour survives.

Jon is making money no matter where he goes. He is getting equity and a say on how LIV is run for the players. He did not get that in the PGA. If not he would have stayed. The money was offered a while back and he said no. June 6 PGA agreeing to the structured agreement changed everything and he was not heard. He isn't the only one. Watch for the stampede. The majors will be Rory vs. 2 or 3 that are left so they will have an asterisks after their name due to lack of competition. The majors will give in very soon if there is a tsunami going to LIV. This reminds me of Byron Nelson winning 18 tournaments during the draft in WWII. An astericks. I think highly of Jon… he could be the hero in this tragedy forcing things to come together. Get the egos out of the way. Play golf.

It boils my piss when they use family as the reason. You're already worth over $100 million.

People forget he did knock back 400M to join LIV initially, if the PGA were conveniently feathering their bed with LIV behind the players backs then all bets are off, well done Jon I would’ve done the same.

Play to win? That’s baloney! If you play to win, you will stick with the PGA! You are a liar! The money in the PGA is more than enough until your grandchildren. You transferred because money!

A self employed business person making a great business decision. Simple. You don't need to justify your business decision to anyone. Monahan caused this animosity and got it wrong! He went down the Saudi route not mentioning that DJ and Graeme Mac had won in Saudi. Nothing said. ARAMCO sponsors the Euro ladies tour. Nothing said. He goes after 54. Bastardised into L1V. He has a lot to answer for.

lol what a joke. It’s strictly for the money, sadly he would have done more for the game in Spain by staying in the PGA. I just hate how this dudes say it’s not about money, such an insult to all of us middle class or below people.

Jon said it upfront…"There were A LOT of things that were very enticing to me…." Yep, several HUNDRED million of them. Everything else he said, is lost in the fog of dollar signs.

It's actually no ones business why Rahm and the other players who signed with LIV and the others who are sure to follow. None of them need to explain anything to anyone. Norman talked about an alternative league 20 years ago and everyone just ignored him thinking it would just go away.
