When your business model is disrupted you can’t play catch up. The PGA tour has only one option, either join the future which is an elite global tour or die. When a big broadcaster signs LIV and one will it’s game over. You can’t stage a Ryder cup or a players championship without the top players. Rahm will field his new team with more defections then the PGA TOUR becomes a minor league.

What if the Saudi's wanted to start their own pro football league and started buying up your favorite players off of your favorite team? Would you still be just as giddy about it?

LIV takes all of the players … builds a more exciting product than the PGA tour has .. and starts a broadcast channel that doesn't put down and chastise players who are independent contractors from earning what they deserve or can get a in a free market. Sounds like Golf Channel is more worried about THEIR jobs .. and they should be

For me the thing that makes tournament golf compelling is the pressure. Pressure on Friday afternoon to make the cut. Pressure on Sunday afternoon for contenders coming down the stretch with a chance to win. LIV golf is pressure free exhibition golf. Seems like lots of people like the LIV format but it is not for me.

All the players who towed the PGA party lines to the public were then betrayed, so I guess now it's every man for himself.
Why we are hearing "It's no big deal" and "Nobody watches it" from certain quarters, to the rest of the world he is a legend and people will be watching him irrespective of where he plays, golf is not owned by the PGA, The players are the stars.
Also all Rahm's Major sponsors are 100% behind him, what does that tell you about future media deals for LIV.
Make no mistake LIV will get bigger and bigger, fuelled by all the negativity and disrespect it has been constantly getting from one corner. (it's a mountain of free publicity)

LIV can only corral 48 players, so there will always be some really big names on the PGA, but it might over time seem like the minor leagues if LIV gets 30+ of the world's best.

Rahm is a fat goof. And nobody cares (in the real world) about him or is family.

    The only thing scary about this…is Wagner’s moustache…lol…brutal! 2:36

What a pair of softcocks .. PIF only want whats best for golf and PIF knows and the players know that a PGAT monopoly is not the answer. All will be fine.

At this point if there is no PGA Tour, i will no longer have dreams or aspirations to be on the PGA Tour. Plain and simple as that. I'd rather just play the small tour and be good at that

You're both sadly and pathetically missing the point! Let's be honest. Jon Rahm went to LIV STRICTLY FOR THE 600 MILLION. THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR ALL PRO GOLFERS IS MONEY! Don't believe any of that nonsense about loving the game and titles being the most important. You can always judge people by their actions. Rahm and other golf stars chose the LIV money over anything the PGA Tour had to offer – history, titles, fame, legacy, or loyalty. I'm happy for Rahm. How could anyone in their right mind turn down 600m! Money is the most important thing in this world for 99% of the people. They all have a price, a number, they will accept. More PGA stars will leave for LIV, I'm sure of it. This might be the end of the PGA Tour as we know it. That will be a deserving fate because of their greed that Michelson pointed out, and because they have tried to monopolize pro golf. From the beginning, LIV has had a right to exist and recruit players, who of their on free will join it. Also, all of that talk about Saudi money being blood money because of the Saudi human rights violations and political murders is hypocritical nonsense. Look at the war crimes and murder the USA is supporting with Israel's murderous genocide of Palestinian civilians in Gaza, for one clear example. USA money is blood money too. We live in a world where many corporations and companies make billions of dollars off of war and murder, or off of polluting the planet with smog and chemicals. So, all of the golf tours and professional sports are full of blood money. I don't like LIV's format or their loud music, but with all of that Saudi money involved it is here to stay. I do think we will soon see a merger of the two tours, because that will be the only way the PGA tour survives.

This is a government destroying our country's entertainment. They only have money bc we had to go show them how to drill for oil or they would still look like Afghanistan. Biden puppet masters are destroying our country fast.

Ok everyone, from the top: The PGA has an arrogant monopoly mindset and the AMERICANS, think they own Golf. Both are stifling to the growth of the game and this is what happens to arrogance. Eventually people leave.

Read my comment below for more of my thoughts on this issue. What I like about LIV is: 3-day tournaments (4 days is too long), no cut (all players get paid), high purses (wealth attracts fans and TV), Global golf (new great courses and more countries involved), the best players in the world (Rahm, Koepka, DeChambeau, Johnson, etc.), and team play (keeps players focused and trying hard). What I don't like about LIV: loud music (noisy and distracting), shotgun start (removes introductions and drama from 1st tee), and not enough tournaments in the USA (which is the golf capital of the world). Even if the PGA Tour gets billionaire investors, they had better merge with LIV or they will lose many fans. Palmer, Nicklaus, and Woods proved without a doubt, it's the superstars that matter the most. They had better get those golf superstars back on their tour somehow someway, or it's sayonara, ciao, and adios.

Time will tell if LIV has a future. Ultimately it's all about the audience. If fans will like the LIV model, they'll watch it and it will become a thing regardless of its origins. In the first two years, however, this hasn't happened and the reason is easy to tell: fans still like the Tour's format of competition and apart from very, very few stars (Rahm, Brooks, DJ and a couple others) all they were able to scrape up is a bunch of cooked up has-beens like Sergio or Phil thay had ZERO chances at being competitive again and a lot of, respectfully, B, C or D class players which have understandably made the move.
If viewership for LIV doesnt grow dramatically in the next 12 months, sponsors are going to start fleeing players and it will take more money for LIV to get them.
Understanding that PIF pockets are virtually bottomless, nobody likes to lose money forever: I hope Greg is not there if and when PIF is going to draw that line
