If the lack of cut on LIV is the sticking point for OWGR points – then why does the Tiger's Hero Challenge with 20 players and no cut get significant OWGR points. Why do the no cut signature events get OWGR points. The hypocrisy is stunning – the collusion between the majors, PGA Tour and OWGR Committee is so obvious for all to see.
If LIV don't want a cut, why can't the OWGR simply say that points will be given to the (pick a number) top 30 of the 48 finishers, the rest get no points. I agree with Phil, the aim of the OWGR is to find a way to rank all professional golf competitions, not simply dictate how they should compete to get points – that is the tail wagging the dog.

Hey guys, excellent vid. Really liked the notion of having the LIV players go play at national events such as the Aussie Open, NZ open, etc. Not only could Ripper promote their brand at LIV events, but also at national titles. Makes sense to incorporate a cut in each event so that LIV players can be included into the WGR system. I believe LIV has surpassed the PGA in so many ways, whilst keeping in mind there are more top players to come across. Go LIV !!

National teams – tick. Corporate ownership of teams – tick (big revenue). Being able to bet on your national team – tick (real big revenue). Betting with confidence on the Indian national team – better check with their bookies first🤣

Adding teams to perhaps represent other countries to create interest? It sounds like LIV might actually be growing the game. Hmmmm….

Monahan is a flat out liar.

LIV needs to sign the top 10 Asian, South American, European players under 25 and 25 of the 50-250 ranked American players under 25. The PGA Tour would fade to irrelevancy.

LIV is the future of golf but they have a math problem that needs to be addressed. Four man teams, while playing threesomes in a shotgun start means the max they can put on the course is 54 (18 x 3). But 54 is not divisible by 4. So 52 is the top number = 13 teams. Unless they go to playing in foursomes then you can fit 72 players in the field, and create 18 teams. but players hate foursomes. And slows down play. The shotgun formate seems to be a must because it creates amazing energy, completes the day in half the time of a PGA event which is great for broadcast costs, and levels the playing field for all players vis a vis weather, playing conditions etc. so you either stay with 52 players or go to foursomes. Building a global elite tour with the top 52 guys works. Foursomes would be a problem. Having no cuts is not a problem for world ranking points and once LIV strengthens their field they will get points. Tigers Hero event grants points with 20 players and no cut. Give me a break. Regarding new investors in the pga would you invest in a depreciating asset. The good players will soon wake up and jump ship.

I think both of you are giving too much credence to the OWGR. The majors will find other ways to allow qualification. Tennis has the sede system. LIV can rank their players and the majors can cherry pick. PGA needs to get rid of JM to move forward. Equity and team shares is the future with more players going to LIV. Those who are in love with legacy will remain with the PGA likely because they are on top and wealthy already. I might add the 2021 PIP (player impact list) now has LIV acquiring 5 of the top 10 so the game has changed. I am hopeful sober minds prevail for the good of the game. Glad to see Peter has such keen insight on the "crisis".

What is a team sport, its 2 teams on either side of a half way line and then you support your team till the end of the obvious 2 teammatch up,.
Golf is no way a team sport unless it ryder cup.

Liv has , what knows how many teams playing on a golf course, they arent fronting one another off.

By end of tje bullshit 54 hole individual and team event, oh who won the team event, who f,ing cares

As a fan I like the 54 hole format and the shotgun start. The big issue for me is how LIV find a TV or streaming outlet that people watch. All this talk of JR and the boys being exciting – I'm one of the very very few who watched any of it. Nobody watching creates no interest and no money – not sustainable even for LIV.

World Golf Rankings irrelevant if best players in game aren’t eligible anyway. Just let the rankings fail eventually.

Can you imagine loud music blaring across the grounds of Augusta National or a U S Open site? Go ahead and call me out but it’s something I just cannot get my golf etiquette brain to accept. I was at a public course near DFW airport recently and they had loud music blaring out of a concession tent right by the first tee and many players were complaining about it. I don’t want to hear hip hop music blowing up my ears when I’m trying to calm my nerves for that important opening tee shot.

There will be a "world tour" as the solution to the manufactured problem. It will be about 75 player fields in no-cut events with very large purses. It will be about 8 to 14 events hosted around the world. The PGA Tour, PIF, Dubai Ports World Tour, and other equity partners will own the for-profit "world tour." There will be a team component to the new "world tour." The team will be owned. The PGA Tour will largely host players 75 and above and will merge with Korn Ferry Tour in large part. Dubai Ports World Tour will be the "Korn Ferry" type tour for golfers in Europe and the rest of the world who don't want to play on the PGA Tour.

LIV is a pirate tour. They grab top players that other tours have developed. To date I am still waiting for LIV golf to develop their own top world players. So far I have not seen that.
