LIV will keep poaching players from PGA until no one is left but spieth JT and Fowler and it will be forced to consolidate

As a European, golf needs to have a global tour and not be US centric. If PGA weren’t so arrogant and myopic they could have listened to Greg Norman over the last decade and satisfied that demand in Australia, Asia, Europe. South America. They could have avoided the inevitable rise of LIV. But they became the Blockbuster/ Kodak of sport, not taking that demand and threat to their cosy lofted positions seriously. Complete idiots.

I don’t think LIV will ever go to 72 holes, they don’t have to. The players like 54 easier on the body and LIV stands for 54, I don’t see them changing their name or their whole mission of LIV. They can get points as is eventually as more players move in that direction. A few more key players and they will have TV rights, sponsors and the whole shebang! The Majors will eventually find a way to invite the top players if they want viewership.

I wouldnt be suprised if the 'back up plan' is a proper world singles tour, with bigger money prizes and its own world ranking points system.. entirely funded by PiF.. thus turning the PGA into a feeder tour, just like they did with every tour outside the USA 😂😉

Yasir would miss a great opertunity if he didn't start that singles tour to work along side LiV.. Liv could probably reduce the number of tournaments per year so players can compete in both, but add bigger cash wins to LiV. The singles tour could also operate on a points system that sees good players auto transfer into liv teams. If you don't play well and you get dropped from that team. It will keep the singles tour players hungry to perform.

TGL is dead in the water. How long will anybody watch others hit shots on a simulator knowing you'll won't get a chance to hit a few yourself? Anyway, PIF and LIV don't need the PGA…LIV has a very strong field playing in every single event, with 1 or 2 Major winners in more than half of the pairings. What does the PGA offers…? OWGR is already irrelevant because anybody with half a brain knows that their rankings don't reflect the real standing of golfers in the world…Nick Dunlap at no. 68 (better than Bryson just to name 1 example) is laughable when you think that position was given to him without a start or finish as a professional golfer! Anyway, in my opinion the Majors will have to reconsider their position on LIV golfers. If the Majors keep ignoring and not inviting LIV golfers, they stand the chance to fade in significance and will in affect be downgraded to elevated PGA events…not tournaments where the best compete against the best. And who are the players that will get money from that $1.5 billion…Top 30 could maybe be paid $50 mil each which would certainly be less than some of them was offered by LIV. And what about the other 170 of the top 200…and then you had the criteria what I heard that someone with Tiger's record will get more of that money than the others…? With regards to Rory…sounds like he's ripe for the plucking. I'm not sure he is right for LIV after everything he said before, but if LIV offers him the same as Rahm, he will easily get 3 top players to join him for a team…and that will completely break the PGA! No merger was and is needed. Have separate tours and it's up to tours to make their products good enough to attract players to it or to retain players. Punishing players and the tours (and using your influence with partners like OWGR, TV bosses etc.) they play on will only make you look like a bully trying to keep their grip on the monopoly they created. At some point the shareholders will be asking the decision-makers at TV broadcasters why they don't have a deal to televise the golf tournaments in which more stars are playing…? Let's have a Ryder Cup type of tournament with top 12 players on LIV, PGA and DP Tour and everybody will know which is the strongest tour…LIV will demolish the other 2 🤣🤣

The "Wild Cards" are a great idea. It will allow a PGA player to play in a LIV tournament with not strings attached other than Jay Blood Money "Banaham" banning them. And to try it out.

Time to boycott the Masters since they are boycotting great players such as Neimann who just won on LIV. It is really unbelievable they are doing that. Who wants to watch the Masters if they don't have the best players?

Watching LIV is like watching a major. You have all the star players competing every event. It just doesn't get any better. The PGA tour is destroying itself and is doing a good job of it. Pride comes before destruction.

That is hilarious that you can earn more points winning at Pebble Beach than winning the Masters. The rankings have become a mockery and everyone knows it. Just think, a player can win 1 event and be ranked higher than a player who wins 4 events. What a JOKE.

Way too many unidentified tagged subjects and lame idiots (Rory) in the discussion. Not interested in trying to understand all of the groups I know nothing about. LIV is the only golf I will follow.
Rory is nothing more than a pampered, punk who got immediate media and corporate investment too early in his career. More likely he is a "puffer".

You affirmed my point – nobody in the PGA looks like they are having fun, thereby no one watching is enjoying watching it. That along with the BS commercialism, PGA television is unwatchable.

PIF should take the $3 Billion and give $500 million for Rory, $500 for other players, $500 million for PGA of America, $500 million for DP World Tour, $500 million to USGA and $500 million to R&A of Europe. They could but OWGR.

I believe that the Fenway Sports Group putting up $3 Billion for the PGA Tour is just to establish a “false” value for the PGAT in its negotiations with PIF. PIF should stop negotiating with PGAT and focus on top 20 players with majors and the OWGR partners. PGAT could be worthless and bought for a penny.

Like Darkstar said, Rory doesn’t need money so his chase for legacy is the Ryder cup. He flipped when Rahm and Hatton moved to Liv and threatened his winning in the Ryder cup. His Majors chase is mostly the Masters and he’s not threatened in getting to achieve that win.
PGA tournament this week only draw is the 16th hole. If that wasn’t a thing, this would be another boring pga event. Another non elevated event. Unwatchable. Every week Liv tournament has way more entertainment with the individual and team competition and like DS said, with more interesting personalities.

Congrats to The Thunderbirds (PE Group running the Phoenix Open franchise) for running the biggest Carnivore Capitalist, overrun dumpster fire in golf history. Just past 10AM EDST. For most of the 1st 1/2 hour of the 3rd round, the noise was everywhere and you literally couldn't hear the announcers. Nobody did anything and the announcers had to yell over the crowd until somebody got them stage mikes.. Noise and people walking is continual on every hole. There's just an endless din. Some of the golfers are trying to make good with it. But, I haven't seen one golfer who didn't look like he was going to throwup. They say there are 40K people around the 16th. Easily there are at least 40K more swamping the course. Head of The Thunderbirds said they had to close the gates and turn away patrons (who already paid through the nose for tickets?). No kidding, They are easily going to have crowd control problems as the fans get drunker and louder. And it's AZ, so somebody is going to get shot. They say LIv Golf is "golf, just louder", well, PGA Golf is only a bit quieter and less unruly than NASCAR.

LIV can accommodate 66 Players – 22 Tee times with a modified shotgun start. Three Early tee offs on par 5’s and one delayed tee off on the first hole for leaders. That would be 15 teams and up to 6 non team spots to qualifiers to accommodate OWGR. Captains can be shuffled and/or replaced especially as captains play declines with age or health.

Augusta is the definition of elite. That means that the "admin" heels to no one. They call the shots and the only possible approach to "convincing" (as opposed to coercing) the inclusion of Joaco is to appeal to their pride and how only the best of the best get invited. If enough people express this by pointing out that a weaker field diminishes their legacy and reputation, then they might well do the right thing.
