I think he needs to apologize to his ex friends and Ryder Cup teammates before any reconciliation could be considered.

People are taking this and running with it. It’s incorrect to say that Rory is making a turn around and taking back the things he said. He may want to be less judgmental to LIV and guys that go to LIV, but his position on the subject is still the same. He recognizes that money is talking, and a lot of these guys that joined LIV couldn’t turn it down. But he is NOT saying that he would take a LIV offer IF he was given one.

Rory’s stance hasn’t changed one bit. Obviously as part of the negotiations there is now a concerted effort to tone down the rhetoric. All of sudden Norman and Mickleson are holding no ill will towards him. For this to work, it has to look like it really is for the betterment of the game of golf.

For you to sit on a near billion dollar perch and smear a good man from humble beginnings like Varney Jnr. and his decision as a new father, husband to care for his family in a free world is beyond forgivable. You're a disgrace.

Now, here's a radical idea. Make each of the LIV teams have a woman professional playing in every round.

Sounds to me that the pga downfall has all the sudden become very obvious to this guy. He knows the pga is doomed. He is covering his ass so when he goes to liv its a forgone conclusion.

Obviously sounds like there's a bit of PR manoeuvering going on here for Rory's future benefit, or the people he is speaking for. May not be with a view to joining LIV, but his status in the possible future merger.

Great to see Rory, is finally making up his mind on the LIV tour. I love the LIV tour, because it gives players another option to make a living playing golf. Unfortunately the PGA is now dying. Glad to see the pro golf is becoming more about the players.

Plus the offer Rory got, was quite substantial, and he started to weigh up his options for playing golf and get paid more money than he can earn on the pga

I hate it. All the history dies with LIV. But that is how the world is now. Money! Think about Nicklaus career golf winnings was somewhere 1.8 million and Arnie was 1.6 million for there careers. They played for the love of the game, competition, and history and legacy. 54 holes, etc. It’s just money and a nation that killed almost 3k Americans and hangs gays and etc. I’m old. I don’t watch golf as much as I did before. It’s not a meritocracy. I’ll just buy and if u are lucky enough u r set for life. Good for all u you who just made golf a ??!!

I think this whole situation has turned into a shit-show. LIV has turned the PGA on its ear. The basis for LIV’s existence hasn’t changed. From their perspective it’s hard to criticize human abuse when you’re an entity that is openly promoting the abusers. LIV has won on that basis.. Once again and forever, it’s all about the money. LIV’s strategy has been a good one – capture as many of the top players as possible and tank the sponsor relationships with the PGA, forcing them to comply. Not bad, if you have the money to make that happen and the Saudis do. Now, with the commissioner of the PGA in the Saudis’ pocket, it’s game over.

There's quite a bit of twisting of the truth in this video, like taking Rory's stance of being judgemental too quickly. This was not backing down on his stance against LIV but the people who defected. When he states not many are in his or Tiger's position, he means money wise. He understands that others found it harder to make a decent living on the tour and could see why they went to LIV for a better payday, with less restrictions.

His current stance on being open to LIV is if it is like the IPL of golf – In other words a seperate league or franchise where they are part of a team with contracts, something like what himself and Tiger are aiming for with the indoor golf league. However Rory has said himself, his ultimate goal if for their to be 1 World Tour, probably for the elites, and then feeder series leading up to that with ranking points

I’m saddened by the monetizing of golf theses days. I live in Arizona and golf now costs $10 to $30 a hole. I’m 65 and retiring soon and will have to give up the game due to$$$. Way to grow the game guys.

Nicklaus, Rory, Tiger, or any other PGA TOUR advocate, supporter, or loyalist has no right to criticize LIV players in any way. All professional golfers play for MONEY! Almost any professional in any career would take higher pay for the same work. Jon Rahm accepted 600m to play golf for LIV. Anyone who would reject that deal is a tremendous fool. Also, pro golfers are independent agents. They should be able to play golf when and where they want to without any negative criticism from Nicklaus, Woods, Mcilroy, or anyone else. This is all about money, and pro golfers will go where the most money is. I'm sure more PGAT stars will go to LIV soon. The money is too good to turn down. If the Saudis want to put billions of dollars into golf, that isn't buying the game, that's expanding the game. The truth is, the PGAT wants to keep on monopolizing and controlling pro golf for selfish reasons. That won't happen any longer. LOL

Roy saying that now simply because he will have to either play for the PIF money or hang his hat. If Roy has a thread of integrity, he should simple quit PGA and go back to DP World tour. Of course he won’t.
