his iron play isnt as good not sure if him being fat and out of shape plays a role but he is alot weaker and generates alot less speed than he used to. not too many examples of players with big changes in figure besides tiger woods post injury but it seems like his lack of power will impact how close he can get his approach shots to the whole.

Wow. 76 should have him sitting in a nice top 10 spot heading into the weekend with this field!

LIV is not reinventing the wheel…it is just making it more watchable by having a shotgun start and not just following the last group all the time.
54 holes doesn't cheapen the game…it give more players an opportunity to win as there is no cut.
    Great concept.

Whether it’s LIV, PGA, DP World, LPGA etc, professional golfers have good and bad rounds. As you said, his round was respectable, which I totally agree with given he hasn’t played competitive golf for 12 years. You then said you can see his passion and love for the game reignite and as the environment changes and the crowds get bigger his energy will come back and reignite the fire he has for the game! Whilst I agree 12 years ago he was very exciting to watch, he walked away from the game reportedly because of serious injury and received what was at that time a healthy insurance payout. It was rumoured to be between $10m-$20m, a good amount when you consider the prize money at the time. Stories written were that he was playing golf with his friends and having a good life. You are now saying that you think his passion, love for the game and enthusiasm will come back! I’m not he does have any love or passion for the game. As a lot of LIV players have said, you’re getting paid a lot more money for less work. There is nothing wrong with that and to suggest otherwise is total folly. You said it yourself, LIV has given AK an opportunity. In short, it’s a commercial decision nothing to do with his love and passion for the game. He’s getting paid more money by LIV, so much more he can afford to hand back the insurance payout. Good work if you can get it, now let’s see if Rory takes the reported $950m.

Tough course in high wind, plus he's playing in SA its not like he has home course advantage. All things considered excellent start and he will win this year. playing oversees is very different compared to playing in the USA.

All good and well, but maybe hold off on the "I'm here to bust everyone's ass" comments until you can back that up a bit.

About 15 years ago him and Rory playing in America,i think American open,
Michael Sim from Perth, all young guns…Very nice to watch them all especially AK .
Remember the commentator saying before EVERY AK’s drive”WATCH THIS POWER,WATCH THIS ENERGY…” Totally different swing now and then…
Hopefully he gets back to his old swing i like the guy…

His swing is very different from last time. But if he’s serious and not back for the money, he can tweak his game and win

I'll be honest…the only reason why I'm watching LIV Golf now is because of Anthony Kim…really interesting story and all things considered, impressive round considering he's 38 and his first competitive found in 12 years.

Don't have mean intent but did AK undergo any face surgery (after car crash, etc) or is it just 12 years age difference. But his nose looks totall different TBH
