Rory has a history of commenting without thinking things through but he should be lauded for correcting himself. And his reference to an IPL type format does have some merit although I’m not certain this would sit well with Norman. Excellent reaction from Mickelson as well.

Can't help thinking this a PR job for McIlroy and he's reading from a script prepared for him.

Rory thinks of one thing, himself, when he dropped out of the 2016 Olympics he admitted he is not interested in raising participation in Golf but to win Majors, so after 8 years of not winning one, maybe the millions on offer from LIV is looking more attractive.

Norman looks like an Aging Janissary, Harem Eunuch, or Private Club Pimp. Does he care about the history and beauty of the game of Golf or the Royal gold he's piling up? He's already shown that the history of golf is as unimportant as turning his car around to see if the squirrel he may have run over is OK. Rory's decency was pearls before swine. Or, rather, pearls before a swine.

Nice Roy is light years ahead of stupid commentator. The real problem is owner ship .PLAYERS Owen the PGA they run the rules. The rules of golf are the rules of golf not gregg Norman. Now golf is under owenship of a Saudi. The player plays by Saudi rules . THEY have the money they set the rules. Goodbye pga what is next nfl nhl nba mlb hello Saudi Gregg not everything is about money Green Jackets don't grow on trees .

It was easy for Rory to spout off about LIV because he signed a 10 year $250 million dollar contract with Nike. Now that other guys are making more than him he changes tune.

Off the course, Mclroy is a joke. He's totally lost all credibility and is an embarrassment.

For years, I've defended golf to doubters who didn't see golf as a real sport. If the PGA becomes like LIV, then there is no defense left. NFL football players, NBA basketball, and even MLB players need guaranteed contracts because in their sports, on any play, your career can end, especially in the NFL. Come on, Golf, really, it's still played by guys who could never make the minor league of real sports. Athletes, really, some of the best golfers who ever played had beer guts, and many still do, or they at least look that way. Okay, Bruce lifts weights, wow. I can guarantee the smallest nfl player can lift more and can run 100 yards in 10 seconds. That's an athlete. I'm not against these guys making big money, but changing the way the PGA plays tournaments will destroy the game. Who wants to watch a bunch of guys with guaranteed contracts for millions, play tournaments for millions in shorts, and unshaven looking like they are on vacation. Then the main focus is teams, really, team golf, boring. Like I said, I'm not against paying golfers big money, but changing the format of how PGA tournaments are played will be the end of true competition in golf and destroy its legacy. I've been wrong about things before, so maybe it will grow the game like they say they want. But not for me, I'd rather watch utube of the former greats winning real tournaments than watch LIV. Of course, if LIV changed their format for tournaments like the PGA, it might change my mind some. But they won't, and they can't because it's part of what they promised the players who went to LIV. Play less and make lots more with little or no stress and little or no excitement, boring!

The legacy of the game will die and so will golf eventually. We’ve taken meritocracy out of everything now. When I went to work in corporate America I wasn’t paid in advance II had to earn my way up. There was plenty of competition and no guarantee money or position.

Phils nickname is FIGJAM for good reason. Degenerate gambling made LIV a handy bailout. Much as I want to like McIlroy, he talks too much and, unfortunately, he has played well below his ability for years now. Better if he just works on his putting and leave all the marketing to Greg.

Ah yes Norman the two time major champ who sold the American Tour (without which he’d be a big nobody)to the Arabs . Why didn’t he sell the Australian Tour instead… or his own mother for that matter. Zero respect for the great white minnow
